<moderator> <X-President> #Auditorium.Room01 -> I was watching a live broadcast of E3 on Pseudo.com and there was an interview with Paul Jaquays and he mentioned that you would include the flamethrower in the full version if it was perfected. Is it perfected and therefore included in the full release?

<Willits> the flamethrower was a medium range weapon which wasn't effective, as people could back off and hit you with any other weapon in the game

<Willits> Q3 has to pass the German censor; luckily you can turn off the blood

<Willits> we don't feel the game was rushed at all, and to the best of OUR knowledge there aren't any major bugs

<Willits> as quickly as we and other developers can get them finished

<Willits> map creation time has almost doubled in Q3 due to the advances in technology with curves and shaders

<moderator> <rdwilson> Willits: regarding your last response about the maps in Q3A, the general concensus of the on-line community is that the maps are somewhat poor for 1on1. Do you plan on releasing an official tourney pack of new 1on1 maps that are player tested, mother approved?

<Willits> for every one person that likes doesn't like the Q3 maps, there's another person that does

<Willits> there were some elements to the game that were easier, such as game load and save

<Willits> a version of wolfenstein using the Quake 3 engine is currently in development

<Willits> it's very unfortunate that software piracy is as bad as it is today... hopefully in the future we'll come up with better software protection

<Willits> they're part of the bsp, and the map must be re-vised before they'll show up

<Willits> using the virtual machine, mod users will be able to create almost anything they want using the Quake 3 engine - we've worked very hard at making this game easy to modify
