Quake III Arena SERVER

Hello.
How do I create a multiplayer server dedicated to the Internet?

Always clears the game, and is only console.
Once again it appears not to enter the server.

This is your problem: you're binding to a local (LAN) address, probably because you are behind a router. Forward incoming traffic on UDP port 27960 to your IP address, then practice patience; it may take up to an hour for your server to show up on the server lists.

go into your router, usually by using a webbrowser and going to http://192.168.1.1.
once there look for 'port mapping' or 'ports' or perhaps 'firewall'. you can forward network signals through there.

obviously i have no idea wha router you have but you probably have a manual of some kind to help you out.

Looking a lot better. You might still need to tweak the Windows firewall or your AV software to allow incoming traffic.

Make sure you boot the game with '+set net_ip 217.129.39.254' (or whatever your IP address is at that point). If people still can't connect after that, there is some firewall / router / AV blocking the incoming traffic.

I can not create a server to play in multiplayer!

When put dedicated to Internet, is the only console.

That's expected behaviour. Fire up another instance of Q3A, join your server, invite a few people. If that doesn't work, provide a detailed explanation of where and, if possible, why it went wrong.

Yes, but then again I play the game right?
But then the server does not appear on the list Internet, is listed LOCAL!

I have invited other people to enter the IP and they can not!

your own server browser isn't very reliable when you're hosting the server on the same machine. ive had servers running for days and it would never show up in the Internet tab. meanwhile other people joined.

see if you can join it, just for testing purposes.
after setting up the dedicated server, fire up quake3.exe again and hit the tilde key ( the ~, most likely next to the 1 key). then type
/connect 127.0.0.1

see if it connects. if so, your server is running properly and theres another reason why people can't join.
the most likely reason is something blocking it, firewall in your windows or in your router/modem, or what have you.

annoying, i know. but we'll get there !

I can connect through the IP Local (router)
Through my Internet IP, I can not!

No, I just can dedicate the server Local!
Exactly, that is the Internet IP (http://ipchicken.com), but I can only use the IP Local (of the router)
