Ghostbusters: The Video Game

Post by xer0s »

This game looks fuckin sweet. I hadn't heard anything about it until now. But the real excitement is from the voice acting for this game. They got the entire cast from Ghostbusters the movie to get in on this. Bill Murray and the whole crew. One of my favorite movies...

the fact that the original cast is in on it gives it a thumbs up to begin with imo. First game that comes to mind that used the main character's voice in-game to me is Riddick, something about that adds a bit more imo to a game.

Oh no borke, not just the cast...

The cast is WRITING IT...

The cast is giving the VOICE OVERS...

The original sound effects, location concepts from the first two films that were not used, are used...

And all the original music, including stuff that never made it into the original films, is here...

Plus, you get to be a fifth Ghostbuster, with a custom appearance...?

Fucking hell, it even has online drop in drop out coop, and you CAN cross the streams, just dont be shocked when you die...

Game of the fucking century people. Honestly. The rest may as well pack up and go home.

"keymaster" Rick Moranis - wtf
Although Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Dan Aykroyd will reunite for this year's Ghostbusters videogame, their Second City pal Moranis won't reprise his role as dork-turned-Keymaster Louis Tully. "He made so much money off of Honey I Shrunk The Kids that he retired. He just doesn’t want to work anymore," the game's producer told Das Gamer.

I met Dan Akroyd and we were talking about this game. He was very enthusiastic about it. At one point he referred to it as being "hot".

this might be the one and only game I spend on myself for the first time since quake4. BTW, I'm a notorious cheapskate, so if it sucks, I'm going to hold a grudge, O'dium.

I think with expectations this high the I am afraid the game will definitely let people down even if it is decent. Great that the actors are writing it, but haven't some big names written scripts for games that turned out to be sort of meh in the past?

when I first heard about this game I dismissed it as being a cash-in title, but now it seems that the entire cast of the original movies do the voice work I'm getting interested.

Orson Scott Card (of Ender's Game fame) wrote the story for Advent Rising.
The game itself wasn't great, but the story was pretty damn cool.

Just because honey I shrunk the twat isnt is it, it still means the cast is there.

Are all 4 Ghostbusters there? Yes. Thats enough for me.

Fuck they even got the black guy in it, and he doesn't even show up in anything Ghostbusters for some reason.

Oh and Ripley? And maybe Janine?

I read some place Peck and the Mayor were in it (I think).

Lets face it, in a game like this, all you want is:

coop
the original voice cast for the four main guys
awesome effects
stupid one liners
and slimer.

As far as I can tell, it has all of those. It cant fail.

Well... I fucking HOPE not...

Oh come on, if the universe imploded everytime you crossed a stream in this game, it would probably suck balls.

The guy talking in that video is brutal...
