The orange peel on that paint is horrible. The quality of the finishes on modern cars is so offensive. I remember when I had my old beaten up 1990s Citroen Xantia comparing its paint to a modern brand-new-off-the-production-line TT and the Audi was a complete embarrassment.

You'd have thought they'd at least make an effort round the maker's badge :offended:

Penny

and Thomas

Strays I picked up about 5 days ago, they were both rail thin, Penny was worse and about to die but now they are both eating a lot and playing, being regular kittens.

I'll keep Penny and put Thomas up for adoption.

will be processing a LOT of these pictures on sunday... hope they come out decent, was the first time using the astro-camera, a QHY9 CCD monochrome. Difficult to use.

Also, Thomas will be staying :) No reason to split them up!

sanity has prevailed on the kitten front :)

also, if you used small icons and auto-hide taskbar you'd have more real estate to play with

just sayin

Those were done with a 2.5x magnifier and this camera http://qhyccd.com/en/left/page2/qhy9/
Need to get a moon filter for the wide shots, they were too bright and washed out.

Only processing done was in photoshop to merge and blend to get the main pictures, no brightness or sharpening.

Is YGP a truck driver? His head is shaped much like the front of an 18-wheeler.

I was at Tour de Bloc, it's part of Canada's national competitive climbing circuit. It's here in Toronto at my home gym True North Climbing for our regional championships.

These are part of a bouldering (relatively low climbs without use of safety equipment) competition. Bouldering is fun to watch because it focuses on strength, balance and often amazing acrobatics to complete each "problem". The photos here are from the open finals after all the qualifiers have been completed during the day.

There are a total of 8 problems, 4 for the men, 4 for the women. Competitors are scored on completion of the problem, reaching "bonus" holds for extra points, and number of attempts. Competitors are timed, they have 5 minutes per problem with an unlimited number of attempts within the allotted time. They are kept in isolation throughout so they cannot see how other competitors are completing each problem.

The lights are out in the gym except for a bunch of spotlights, so it's pretty dark. I'm pretty happy with the way these turned out considering how dark and far away the climbers are. I'm shooting these with a f/1.8 50mm prime lens.

They both purr with ferocity... Penny purrs so hard that it sounds like she is wheezing, and Thomas purrs so strong that his whole body vibrates. It's hard to sleep when a vibrating kitten is using you as a pillow lol
