Young Man Drowns Saving Family of Three, The Rescued Leave Saying It Has Nothing To Do With Them: To save a family of three from drowning, 27-year-old Deng Jinjie jumped into the river without regard for personal danger. However, he ran out of strength and was soon swallowed by the rapid river and drowned. Just as Deng Jinjie’s life was in danger and whether he was alive or dead was unknown, the rescued family of three chose to leave. A witness says: When the crowd stopped the family of three from leaving, the woman said “none of my damn business” before driving away. Sanxiang City News

Maybe it was their twenty sixth failed attempt at suicide and they were just really pissed off that they failed at it again?

Wait, should i be upset at the three people he rescued who left the scene before they could rescue their rescuer - even though apparently there was a whole crowd doing fuckall to save the guy? Ok.

Yeah, fuck that guy, based on the actions of a group of people unrelated to him.

I expect nothing more from some people who live in a culture where it's perfectly acceptable to slow baking a live dog as a food delicacy. Some people are cunts.

What? I'm only trying to get my upset aimed in the right direction here, you're not helping by muddying this even further.

Somewhat tempted to point out that a crowd is usually unrelated to an individual and that inaction is not action, but instead i'll just ask you to patiently explain what you're trying to say, because shit don't make sense.

IKR, too bad this will never EVER be properly reprimanded by anything or anyone. Takes a brave person to face the realities of a secular cosmos.

one word: lawsuit

- the potential threat of which is what has apparently made chinese people into monstrous fucktards. remember the little girl getting sideswiped twice by two separate van drivers, and no one went to help her?

i'm not laughing. i don't see anyone else laughing. do you.

i could see this happening, but i'm not convinced it was as is reported. but even still, i dont see a problem.

why would a half drowned person try to save someone. most people are exhausted.

for all his ability, the guy failed to save himself. honestly that makes me sad. but it still is good on him for saving others. it bothers me when people don't try. but there's always a question of survival for all people involved. would he have still
done it if he thought his chances were slim. did he know he would not make it and still decided to jump in. motivation. intent. action. results. etcetcetc.

the question is, was or is it a waste trading lives?

They aren't necessarily, they're just greedy. In Nanjing back in 2007 I think there was a grandmother who was knocked over by a car and left in the street. An elderly man came to her rescue after most people ignored her and took her to a hospital. The grandmother then claimed that he was the person who hit her, in order to get compensation. The judge presiding over the case ruled in favor of the grandmother citing "only the person responsible for hitting her would feel guilty and take her to the hospital". Since then, most people are afraid to help others in public, referred to as "the Nanjing judge effect".

There's a big difference between not helping someone from drowning after you've almost drowned yourself, and leaving the scene like nothing happened and saying "it's none of my business". Especially if the one drowning is the one who rescued you in the first place.
