Not sure if entirely a good thing.

Could be interesting...do valve bank role the rest of the production of the already started game?

Hmm. I'm also unsure what to think of this.

in what way could it be a bad thing that would impact negatively on your quality of life exactly?

'cos it could denote an oncoming deluge of hype-churning marketing guff in an effort to scrounge community likes/upvotes/thumbsups, plus encouraging of fagsbook, tweeting, twatting and god knows what else. /shudder
that and gaming communities by and large are a whiny, over-reactionary herd of morons that review and score games without having even played them and post DO NOT BUY in the steam forums, because their shitty rig keeps crashing, or they can't play Sonic properly with a mouse. how do these knobsters know what a decent pitch for a game is? = hype. fuck hype.

'course it could also mean some clever little numbers that would have otherwise been ignored, get a brighter chance for release and obvious shite gets rightly left by the wayside. like I says, i'm uncertain, so we'll have to see. i'm just not feeling all that keen if common folk will be the be-all and end-all of what floats and what croaks in a world where Sims expansions and CoD rule the charts. i'd rather not the more risk-happy indie scene get geared for mass appeal for the sake of an easy launch.

well, maybe. but it's not like pro studios turn out uniformly amazing work. in general, decent games are the occasional diamond in an ocean of shit

anything to shake things up, really

There are a lot of games that really shouldn't see the light of day at the moment, but they do so this Greenlight thing shouldn't produce too much more shite than we are already used to.
