Joffrey's personal guard (or whatever you call him) striked Tyrion. It could possibly be that he had instructions by Cersei not to take any chances of Tyrion getting captured, seeing that the second wave was coming in. Or possibly that yes she wanted to off him regardless....even possibly use the excuse of the former to achieve the latter. After all, there is gonna be sum explaining to do to Daddy.

I figured he saw his chance in the chaos of battle after being humiliated by Tyrion several times in the past.

Good episode, i quite like how they decided to focus on the siege. I wonder what will happen to the Hound and Sensa... and how badly pappa Lannister is going to chew out Joffrey and Cercei. Should be fun.

And the wildfire explosion, whoa :ducky:

that would actually be something that could happen for realz, but it might not have enough meet for storytelling as it would if someone higher up in the casting had something to do with it.

It would give the Imp carte blanche to put the head of one of the king's most loyal protectors on a stake (and possibly feed his manhood to the goats), leaving Joffrey more vulnerable than ever. Even the Hound has had it with him now, Joffrey has about zero credibility left. Good times.

PS i hope the Hound and Bronn will become good buddies, that'll be amusing

PPS: what happened to Stannis near the end? Did he get captured or were those his own troops dragging him away?

PPPS: who exactly was the fat little squire that saved Tyrion's life and why don't we know anything about him?

PPPPS: If i ever become a warlord i shall invest a solid third of the entire war budget in drums.

That's Podrick, Tyrion's squire, the one that earlier in the episode Varys asked Tyrion if he could trust. He's one of the good guys and goes on to play a reasonably important part later on in the story, although he's never a "Major" character.
His last name is Payne, meaning he's related to Ser Ilyn Payne, the nasty mute bastard who executed Ned and was going to kill all the women under Cersei's order if the castle got breached.

It sucks that Tyrion died (if he died). I guess it was kind of predictable but it happened in such an afterthought, almost insignificant way that I'm probably more sad abou it seeming like an unimportant event than about him actually dying. But then again, who knows what ep 10 will show us.

he didn't die. peter dinklage has been signed up for six seasons of this, and it's unlikely to include four seasons of flashbacks

gotta say tho, cersei is a fucking annoying character. she just wouldn't shut up sometimes

Tyrion's death will be far more grand than a swift cut from a traitorous asshole. The cliffhangers at the end of each episode have taught us that the most obvious answer is usually the least correct. He's alive.

That is a spoiler in itself for those of us that don't stalk IMDB 24/7.

What? He obviously didn'y die.
He did however, appear to take a broad/bast sword, edge first, to the face and get but a scratch, which was rather odd tbh.

Eh? No spoilers there, all information provided in that episode and previous ones.
The previous sentence might be considered spoilerish, but even there, I don't reveal if he lives or dies or what events he's involved in, just that he sticks around.
Seriously, that's less spoilerish than the dumb fucks revealing Peter Dinklage his signed up for six seasons and therefore Tyrion won't die for at least those six seasons.
I don't care if it's "Common Knowledge", some people here don't follow celebrity news and were not likely to have read that.

his head shoulve went like shit off a shovel, for the next 5 mins I was convinced he was going to fall apart, he did however own it up some when he charged onto the field of battle and promptly chopped down a mans leg like a mighty oak, before beating his chest with the final blow like a petulent child with a xylophone would, I fucking love this shit, the scene with the wildfire was pretty epic also, I still want to see theon ? turned inside out too, guess we'll have to wait until next season for that :(

I also thought it was pretty poor form to tell your fleet to fuck off completely, it was obvious he was going need it unless he was planning on taking out everything with green napalm, all he essentially did is render their fleet useless, which it was anyway unless they had the add on 'wheels' package

edit: just realised that team A no longer has a fleet but team B still has a fresh and unused one ;)

There's a fair bit of that in this thread. People missing stuff in the show and then complaining about "spoilers", when in actual fact said "stuff" has already been revealed and/or known.

What the fuck happened at Winterfell. First I thought they were going to hand over Theon and barter safe passage, then it shows the place torched. How did they manage that and then get past the five hundred pointy-stick wielding blokes who supposedly had the place under siege?

That's a terrible idea. And her eyebrows bug the fuck out of me, too.

I only got into this show about a month ago when someone gave me the first season. Watching the past 2 weeks episodes tonight or tomorrow. I want Arya to be a little badass and Sansa to fall off a cliff. Love Tyrion and Bronn's characters best.

I forgot to mention Arya's situation. Her and her assassin's scene was really good. But I really wanted her to go with him so she could "learn his ways.". But it sounds like we'll eventually see him again when she says the magic words...

This. And also why did the boys and their escort of large dimwit and slaggy maiden not run towards them, seeing as they're you know, fighting for the Starks?

Epic episode otherwise, loved the Imp scene and the scene between Arya and the faceless man especially.

Want the next season and want rightfuckingnow, damnit.

btw lols
