Cemetery Man - 7/10
Another take on the zombie genre, this time with Wupert Everwet and some Italian lass with phenomenally perky tits. It's like a good version of one of those arty farty Argento movies that everyone pretends to like that are actually really fucking boring and monotonous.

Sort of off-topic, but wanted to bump another thread over whatever Geoff thinks about while he's sitting on his thumb/being pegged by his wife. Someone's taken the time to figure out why the new Batman movies were great but sort of flat:

Apollo18 = 6.5/10 - I see people are falling for the marketing campaign, like they do with all "found footage" movies. Morons.
Anyways, a decent enough movie that never lags and keeps you watching until the end.

IMDB

Just got back from the movies, as you do and had to tell you about this. I do hope it is made available in your area of the globe :D

Two words, see it !

Look, I am just going to say it is the best overall movie I've seen in a long time.
I got emotional towards the end :tear: and that's nice in a movie these days.

Here is a quick read for you and a Wiki on the region

Image

It is a bit hard to rate as I am still on a high, so 9/10.

Iron Man 2 - 6.5/10

Was actually pretty enjoyable despite what people were trying to lead me to believe.

Prince of Persia - 4/10
Lame. Dude didn't even look Persian.

Thor - 5/10
Movie basically went down like this:
"LETS KILL SOME ICE GIANTS"
Banishment.
"BROOOTTHEERRRRR"
One fight.
Almost everybody is happy. Obvious bad guy get's screwed.

perhaps, but I had just watched Iron Man 2 right before and saw the scene after the credits. I liked how they're tying the movies together.

Yes, seems like some great Aussie movies have to have a token american aboard, although he played the part so very well ..
he gets killed in a road accident, hit a kangaroo in the early hours of the morning (like you do)
Didn't think it was that bad, but yeah it's a bit slow, pedestrian affair.
Had a bit of that 'Will Ferrell trying to prove he can play straight roles' stank over it, but I think he succeeded.

Green Hornet - 4 / 10

stupid. Really stupid. So stupid that it's good in a bad way. So stupid that it might have been done on purpose...maybe.

Harry 4/10

Charles Bronson in the uk. Felt like it was insulting my intelligence somehow, did not like.

btw, i've seen atleast 20 movies since I last posted here, but they are not even worth a mention...mainly because there would be nothing to be earned as most of you will be skipping them anyway.

I saw an interview he did about the movie, and thought there would be more flashback sequences that told a bigger story. Instead, it takes two hours to remember a whole TWNETY GOD DAMN SECONDS

since he was so good in Predators, figured why not watch it. pretty disappointing.

the guard 8/10
don cheadle as an fbi agent chasing drug smugglers in ireland with brendan gleeson as the local copper. the humour, drinking, violence and bad language are a bit more muted that you'd expect from something set/produced in ireland - but the story is tight, the cast are great and for the first time in a long time for this sort of movie, i really liked the ending.

Yes, couldn't have said it any better 4days. I too likd the way it ended and the humour abound

An excellent movie and one to put on you list to view.

I'll add half a point ... 8.5/ 10

Priest 5/10 - Meh. If you expect nothing more than a film adaptation of a graphic novel that has a different take on vampires, you won't be disappointed. If you expect a good movie that isn't just another popcorn sci-fi action pic, you will be vastly disappointed. Karl Urban...'nuff said.

Thor 6/10 - Entertaining, and again, if you go into expecting to see a movie about a comic book, it's fine. I will say that the art direction, sets, and scenery in Asgard were gorgeous. Great costumes, too.

Haven't seen it in a decade I think, but isn't it rather the missing link between "2010" and "Doom"?
Still, it is quite enjoyable, as far as I remember. I don't like Sam Neill in any of his "works", though :).
Speaking 'bout "2010"; it is way underrated as the step-son. Pretty cool, actually.

The kid (Cole) at the end, his eyes really got to me this time :tear:

He said it in the movie, like history a movie although the same is always seen differently (read when revisited).

Was there a follow up to this one anyone?

The Eye of the Storm

An Australian film, but not like Red Dog.

Funny, after the movie we wrere approached by a student type doing a thesis on Australian movies :smirk: asking our opinion.

Look I said, I'm into sci fi and action, liked Red Dog for sure for the humour but this I found pretty confrontational but entertaining, good cast, good plot and cinematics but dry as outback dust.

local review and another obligatory IMDB

EDIT: Forgot rating.... 6.5 /10

I seem to be watching a few movies lately :paranoid:

Caught one of the best tank movies, made in 1965

IMDB

The great Robert Shaw as the German tank Commander. Henry Fonda and Robert Ryan great parts too.
Sad part is they are not really German tanks :smirk:

Still worth a watch every 10+ years ..7/10
