not sure wtf but I let a friend borrow the laptop for a few days and now on top of having to wait for a sector check every time I boot up,..the mouse and keyboard donnot seem to give any input to the system, and when they do is very slow in reaction, as well as only accepting 20% of any mouse/keyboard input

I tried using a usb connected mouse and after a few hickups of the lazer light flicking on and off, it now seems to have proper response to the usb mouse... but the laptop pad and keyboard seem broken.

hardware issue? firmware issue?

ps

he said that all he did was use his usb stick to transfer music files around

maybe try booting into a flavor of linux via live cd and see if that runs smooth. at least rule out hardware if that's the case.

it was a dying battery :disgust:... pad and keyboard works perfectly using the power cable once the battery is completely removed. :offended:

ps

this is an Acer Aspire 3000 :disgust: :disgust:
