Bid For Power is one of the early Q3 mods started in the late 90s era (1999 - 2002).
This is a repository where the important goal is to retrieve Bid For Power game logical structure.
We tried to search the source code in everything. Finally, we found responses. The bad news is that the source code has been lost.
We're trying to recover using any docs, the functionalities from the game, cfgs, assets, ...
Any contribution, helping that repository, is welcomed!

Re: Bid For Power (BFP) - Source code recreation
I do not know anything about this mod, but I guess I might help at least by some research of the mod and its docs, and post updates on newly found material. I'm not sure if I will be available to contribute an actual code (I might however help with debugging and testing the mod), that's because I have other development projects kinda started up and I need to make a proper schedule for my development projects.
I believe the revived mod will be for latest versions of Q3, 1.32+, right? Then I could help with debugging it and testing it, I might as well record some video out of it to my YouTube channel or stream it on Twitch (and later post VOD on YouTube as well).
As for my other development projects you may ask - that's a little bit OT so in general, I make Minecraft Spigot plugins and Discord bots (so majority of time I'm developing on Java and Javascript platforms). If you want more details, I more than welcome to discuss about it in PMs or on Discord (eighter on the Q3W Discord, or in Discord DMs if you happen to be in a mutual server with me).

The development of this mod only used game code, because in the 90s, id Software didn't release Q3 engine code until 2005. The mod supported Q3 versions 1.27+ in that era.CZghost wrote:I do not know anything about this mod, but I guess I might help at least by some research of the mod and its docs, and post updates on newly found material. I don't know any details about supported Q3 version in the game code of the repository, it's recommended to use 1.32+, though. It works on ioQuake3 too.
We've docs and cfgs references of this ancient mod inside this repository:
- cfgs: https://github.com/LegendaryGuard/BFP/tree/main/cfgs
- docs: https://github.com/LegendaryGuard/BFP/tree/main/docs
I could share any resource related to this game (to use them as a help to retrieve the source code).
I talked to the programmer author of this mod years ago, he told he saved the source code in some drive, but it has been lost...
We maintain the team credits according author rights if we're using under BFP name. The code in the repository can be modified freely, as long as it can be optimized.

Never too late to make another one.
