Sweet deal, sir. ;[
Yeah, it's been in disarray for some time but was still being used as a archive for all the old games then Viruseater sold off clanservers.net to clanservers.com in early december, I wasn't aware that gameadmins.com was being sold as well, he's put up the cash for the domains for the last couple years.. so it's technically his, but I would of reimbursed him for the cash... I had plans for the site...
well, at least I was able t o leave a goodbye note, I may see my legal options at least in regards to the content, I've been told he probably owned the domain but not the content of the site..
He won't even respond to my emails. I've been in contact with the guy that purchased the site.
They of course had a backup of the site and removed my 'goodbye' message. He's pretty cool about the whole thing, but pissed JT sold it, without saying something.
Remember Zxel? I still have emails from him saying they'd pay for the domains as all the traffic I was giving clanservers.net and it would still be my site.
I was and am still very upset about the selling of the site, I still have various emails from JT's partner stating the site would still be mine and they were picking up the domain payments for a few years from the traffic I was getting them for their clan servers business. I was removed from the domain as they were paying for the fees, I didn't think that a big deal at all since I had known them for 4 or so years and even had sent his buddy Christmas cards and recieved Christmas cookies from him one year. I've put in a total of 6 years of content into the site and JT did not even ask me or let me know the sale was going to take place, I had sent him several emails asking about redesigning and relaunching the site, and was hard to get an email from him. The content was submitted by users, some of it 'mirrored' from other places so it would have a second home, I'm looking into the issue with content as I do not believe that was his to sell. He was the legal owner of the domains as he had paid for them for several years, but the content was not for him to sell. If you had something you've worked on for 6 years sold without your knowledge, you think you'd do something unprofessional? I left a message on the site, letting them know they could contact JT in response to the selling of the site, and to let them know I was no longer affiliated with the site and/or hosting and no longer had access to my email account, as it was removed several days ago (which was my first idea that something was wrong). I have no issues with you purchasing the site, the biggest problem I had was I still had plans for the site and not one word was mentioned that he would be selling the site right out from under me and not even give me a chance to purchase the site back from him, as all the emails still stated it was my site. I just kind of feel he needed to at least let me decide what I would of liked to do with the site.
Where were you when the West was defeated?

It's sounds like whoever sold it (viruseater?) needed some quick cash. That's probably why they never told you, knowing that you'd be against it, seeing that the site is was yours to begin with (based off of what you stated in your emails).
If so, then you got scammed and that money should be yours.
Wait a minute, if you make a site, then he can't just sell the site can they? The site itself is your intellectual property. The EBay page states that you designed the character with the lasergun. It's yours. The copyright to that can't be sold by him. He might be the owners of the domain name and could technically sell that (assuming you didn't have some sort of contract with him) but he can't in any way sell the site itself to someone. It's your property, no matter where it's hosted.
I do have emails and text from Jon "Zxel" stating it was still my site even though clanservers was picking up the tab for the site since I was bringing them traffic.
Although, I should watch what I say here to make sure it's not libelous.
