The impressive part is cramming such a vivid image into a 256-color gif file.
As for the animation, the 2 frames are supposed to be what you see in each eye when it is made holographic... but since it isn't, it's sort of like a chocolate bar that doesn't taste of anything, you know?

.gif images can't be shown on the web with a framerate lower than 1/10th a second.
