A website ANYONE can edit (That means you, so click me!)

HOW?
After some discussion over in this thread about quake4world.com, I contacted the current domain owner and had a friendly chat about it. It turns out, she was willing to sell quake4world.com, .net and .biz to me for a price I could afford.

edit: unstickied, added URL to consolidated sticky

Myself and the quake3world staff have come to an arrangement, so that instead of opening up seperate forums, we'll and keep the community here alive and enhance it by pointing quake4world forums to here. This forum.

i mean, it dosent have ID's backing, and i'm pritty sure that people are just going to continue posting on Q3W rather then regging and moving to a new board simply because the 4th Generation quake is out.

The forum is the same since the forums for Q4W are pointing here, its just an updated Q4W homepage with links and info based around the new game. It will probably draw some new people for us to help or torment (depending on the forum).

Cool, I suggest you contact the quake4 site and have them add you to the fan sites or whatever. It would be cool if we could move away from ign, but yea lack of id support sucks. Good luck.

The green text is a bitch to read (contrast with the grey is almost non-existent) but that's pretty minor.

BTW how do you register on your site?

The reg box on the right hand side doesn't let you do anything, all the registration you need to do is via the Wiki.

BTW, I hate Wiki's. They are only good if your a mod site. For a game site like this, it should be news, and a few static inforamtion pages. Not to mention the wiki pages take ages to load.

I'm all about trying something new. Think about this:
-The web started off static with no user feedback.
-Then there was small dynamic elements like gifs and DHTML.
-Then forms and other elements of user feedback got big (Contact forms, ordering).
-After that user input directly into the site in limited areas (forums, guestbooks)
-Lately there's been a move towards users being able to input a whole lot more (forums are ubiquitous, guestbooks, comment fields, ratings, submissions)
-I think a content site which is fully open to public contribution is the way forward.

Now, I'm not completely naive. I realise how widely open to abuse the system is. Fortunately, I'm not a business, and I can afford to take that risk without a PR disaster... so I think it's worth a go :)

BTW with some time spent, I think I can make it look like it's not even a Wiki, and have it almost indistinguishable from the main page.

You might want to fix the header, the green glow is cut off on the left right and bottom part of the logo.
