JB Realistic Gore Joined: 22 Sep 2006 Posts: 924	Posted: 12-02-2006 12:55 AM                  Is there some trick to getting Quake 3 to authenticate me on any multiplayer Quake 3 server out there? Every time ive tried, no matter the circumstances, it always times me out due to authentication.

S@M The Illuminated Joined: 15 Mar 2005 Posts: 1623	Posted: 12-02-2006 03:15 AM                  pb authentication might be failing if your configs read only, or if your pb wont update - there is a pbweb applcation - check the faq in this forum also, do a console dump and look for an explaination of why auth failed (perhaps) edit OT - how you settling in to Aust? Youve been here a few months? now yea? Hope its all good for you

S@M The Illuminated Joined: 15 Mar 2005 Posts: 1623	Posted: 12-04-2006 02:18 AM                  that image is illegible, try a console dump: I think this is the command: /condump condump.txt also check that its not your router: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=faq-q3.php edit check the aussie and new zealand servers - unless your on dial up which might explain the ping. crap, pbweb has been discontinued!! try this link: http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloads/mac/pbsetup.tgz you might need to completely remove pb and reinstall it from scratch - anyone else have ideas? if you can get misanthropias' attention, hes forgotten more than l will ever learn about q3, try messaging him via the TnT forum if needed.

JB Realistic Gore Joined: 22 Sep 2006 Posts: 924	Posted: 12-04-2006 03:07 AM                  ive long since deleted the screenie, but i think it says Authentication tim-out disconnected from server Im also very sure its not a pb issue, since i have it disabled 9/10 times and ive been told that its not. It happens on every net server i join, regardless of ping, players, location or pb usage. Im also using a Mac, and ive read in places that there have been issues with mac authentication in the past, am i wrong?

It may be your router - read the link above on that, and try it out. other than that, I have no ideas how to help, good luck though _________________ "Liberty, what crimes are committed in your name."
