it makes people think that they can scramble f22's with a phone call about their neighbor bringing boxes into his house at 2am. I wanna try that.

Scary...

Witnessed something a bit like that myself once, years ago during the Fast Forward Dance Parade in Rotterdam. Which is basically a lot of trucks with dj's on them and a lot of dancing people around them going slowly through the city to the harbor, for a big party. Riot police followed the last truck in a rigid line across the streets, bats and shields first... so you really didn't wanna get too close to them. But suddenly the cops moved towards the truck faster, so there was a lot less space for the last people in the crowd - who began to rush forward to stay clear of the approaching cops. Which caused people further up to push em back because they didn't see what was going on... and suddenly both the crowd and the cops panicked and there was this sudden flash riot type thing for a couple of minutes. Calmed down as fast as it had flared up, and as far as i could see noone got smacked too bad... but still. Nobody was doing anything wrong, the cops caused it 100%.

Hey, maybe sometimes the cops get all worked up leading up to a big event but when they get there the people are all peaceful and happy. So they feel compelled to create their own special type of fun.

brilliant. send national guardsmen to fight a war, then send soldiers to police the streets at home

actually, if you end up with the military patrolling american streets, i suggest hiring the british army because they've done that kind of shit before and also speak your language. just don't throw any snowballs :sly:

2/3rds of US Population lives in "Constitution-Free" zone.

Quote:
The Fourth Amendment to the Constitution contains a border-related exception to unreasonable search and seizure laws, permitting searches at border checkpoints that wouldn't be permitted elsewhere. But federal statute 8 CFR 287.1 (a)(1-3) defines the border zone for enforcement purposes as encompassing an area within 100 miles of the actual border, with the possibility of extending it further under certain circumstances. This means that the US Border Patrol could conceivably set up random checkpoints asking travelers for a passport in places like Columbus, Ohio; Houston; or anywhere in the state of Florida. And, in fact, it appears that it has been doing exactly this.

Police get the wrong block, arrest 12 year old girl as a hooker while she was going outside the house to throw a breaker. Refuse to admit wrongdoing, justify arrest by saying she was forcefully resisting arrest.

You obviously lack an appreciation for the risks they take every day.

Even if that girl didn't do anything wrong she shouldn't have resisted arrest. If you don't submit to the police like you're supposed to, you deserve what you get. I would fully support them if they had shot her in the back for trying to escape. If she didn't want trouble, she should have just gone with them peacefully, without asking them why she was being arrested. There's plenty of time to find out details like that in court, after you've spent some time in a jail cell.

Bollocks. The kid was TWELVE. I'd resist arrest if it was for no reason, the problem is they can slap you in a cell with no probable cause but if I didn't derserve to set foot in a cell in the first place they can fuck right off

meanwhile, in other news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8004222.stm

Quote:
A police officer has been interviewed under caution for manslaughter after a new post-mortem overturned the cause of Ian Tomlinson's death.

The newspaper-seller was struck and pushed over by a police officer during G20 protests on 1 April in the City.

Now a fresh examination has found he died of abdominal haemorrhage, not a heart attack, as originally thought.
