true that donny. i played for about an hour and a half yesterday and I had trouble following the main questline. there's so much extra stuff to do in the city, and everything just begs for your attention.
streetcrime going on over there, a payphone rings mysteriously over there, and I managed to form some sort of alliance with a hated enemy somewhere else.
everybody wants a piece of the batman

I know this game is gonna rock my world and probably taint every game I play for the next 6 months with it's brilliance. Apparently there is 30 hours of solid gameplay...30 hours!!! According to the Joystiq review, the side quests are brilliant and the city itself is wonderfully designed and easy to get around.

Want to play now...away this weekend and then away with work Monday and Tuesday. Not cool!!!

If you own Arkham Asylum or some shitty Batman Lego game on Steam, you get 20% off pre-ordering Arkham City.

Hey, $40 after discount, not bad. It's tempting, but with BF3 in 5 days I may wait for a Steam sale on this one too.

I didn't get Arkham Asylum until a Steam sale. I was having so much fun with it that I stayed up all night and beat it in one sitting. However, I never launched the game again... not much point other than to gather the stupid tokens.

Asylum is $9.99 now, I bought it for about $7 in last year's Christmas sale.

Good game. Finding my way around places is a bit of a cunt. I find mapping on modern games to be this:

Not very good.

it comes with the territory of immersing you in a more realistic / believable environment. Sure they could strategically place landmarks but that would be a double edged sword as it could make the world look smaller..by actually showing its finite size more clearly.

There's just so much to see/do. You start a mission, get halfway through it, then someone else is nagging you for help. Amazing game, but sometimes it does lose focus a little bit!

The combat and stealth challenges are fun. I like firing up the expert sewer challenge and just beating the shit out of all the thugs. It's quite the stress reliever.

I made the mistake of "trying" this last night. Rage wont be played again for a while...so far this is bloody fantastic. Gonna rinse another few hours just walking around the place later I think...

Riddler clues are cool as well as they are alot more challenging to get to this time :)

Also I am glad to see the Catwoman add on bit too for yet more diversity. Yes, this is going to be grand.

I completed it last night and it's worth all the praise it's got. Genuinely the most polished game i've ever played. The controls are near perfect too. It's like they thought "fuck it, let's treat this game like it's the last Batman title we'll ever work on and include every major character from the comics" heh.

Also of note is that once you've finished the game, you can continue back in the city, doing all the side-quests and the enemies even talk about what happened during the ending (it's a biggie so I won't spoil it). More games should let you do this, rather than forcing you into a NG+ (which it even has as well!)

Honestly, this game has thought of everything and is the full package. Gonna be hard even for UC3 to beat this.

I love the Riddler's physical challenges, the ones you get after getting a certain amount of trophies.
Beat the second one last night, took me a while but once I did I was like "ffs you sneaky bastard >:E"

teehee :)

Bleh, might have been something wonky with their bullshit regional pricing system. Should've bought it at $50 heh.
