What a fucking scam, seriously, could this be any more of a blatent rip off from Alien? I mean, its even got the Alien style logo slowly appearing... Its like they just copy pasted the design from one film into the other, evne the space jockey is there, Jesus...

If I was the original director I would be PISSED...

Sorry, I do indeed. I wrote a track called "geiga" so it's pretty much skewed my spelling on that forever. His involvement isn't massive from what I read, but the fact he is involved, in an aliens-inspired film, directed by Ridley Scott can only be a good thing. If it capture even half the magic of the original, then it'll be twice as good as any other sci-fi horror film in the last 2 decades.

the trailer makes even less sense than most. you could in a similar fashion slam together a montage of clips from the Doom movie and create, in the mind of the unsuspecting cinema-goer, the impression that that movie did not in fact suck galactic quantities of steaming cock

since I am a suspecting cinema-goer, I'll go out on a limb and proclaim that I got a good feeling from the atmosphere of the trailer. Doom on the other hand looked shit immediately after I found the rock was involved.

I am looking foreward to this very much. PG13 rating does make me sceptical but fuck, if they can pull of a good "how the xenomorph met the human race" story even without bloody brain bitings, I'm up for it.

I had to register just so I could tell you guys what I discovered about the film.

The space jockey that you see in alien who has had his chest busted open is the guy who engineers the aliens. He sends the aliens to planet that he wants to take over. The aliens kill the locals and he flys in and pillages the land of its resources. It seems as though he is responsible for the aliens creation. He is some kind of super scientist, a super mad scientist. It appears that the engineer is sort of leader of a civilisation and there is a cult around his personality and his alien creations, this is probably due to the fact that he has mastered the technology that continues to provide the resource requirements of his home world. The engineer or space jockey will be in some sort of cryo-chamber.

The engineer is played by some huge guy who is 8ft tall. He appears even bigger in the space jockey scene from Alien as he is wearing a space suit. He appears to have died in a seat that looks like it is some sort of weapon control, this is in fact the navigation system that the space ship uses to open worm holes and plot its course. Perhaps the aliens revolted and, knowing that he has been impregnated, he is desperately trying to return home to have the alien extricated.

I was just reading today's (New Years Day here) paper of upcoming movies in 2012 and this caught one my attention.
I was about to search for the trailer and I found it (already) here as I expected

Ridley Scott was really enthusiastic about the story, he said that's why he decided to make an all new film, with some connections to Alien, rather than just a prequel. So the story should be as good as the sets, at least. After the Alien Vs Predator shit film, I have low expectations for this, though, even though it's a Ridley Scott film. I mean the studios clearly don't give a shit what people do with the Alien franchise (or the Predator one, "hey lets bastardise 2 franchises at once!"). They should care about staying true to the high quality of the originals. It's like if Coca-Cola switched their recipe to lemonade; "it's OK, it will sell"

Oh and FOS. Someone delete that spoiler shit please. FFS.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, there should have been an Alien Vs Predator film, but they should have based it on the comics, which I read were good, or something making sure the quality was high, instead of getting some hack to do it, which is what they did.
