Well, the big giant APRIL 1 at the end of the video seems to confirm it. GoT was always on a Sunday too.

Anyway, I was gonna read the books as I caught up with S1 again last week and need my GoT fix, but I have the attention span of a vole these days. Internet killed my ability to read any more than 140 characters at a time, damnit.

That's too bad, most of what's written on the 'net is shite. Go read the books, they are quite visceral and don't fuck around like LOTR does. It jumps around between characters to keep it interesting and there is indeed "tension on every page." Plus the way the author describes the meal scenes makes me fucking salivate :olo:

I'm halfway through the third book, just got the all of the first season's episodes. I have read a shit-ton of fantasy in my time, Eddings, Foster, McCaffrey, Anthony, Brooks, etc., etc. This series is hands-down the best one I've ever read.

As you read a book and watch the series at the same time, or even read a book after you've watched the movie, do you find yourself imagining in your head the characters and faces from the movie/tv show? I hate that. That's why I can't watch something, then read the book. I feel like it takes away from my imagination. I can't seem to get those movie faces out of my head...

Meh, I've only watched the first episode so far (saving the rest to watch on my tablet during my upcoming trip to Mexico), so the only thing along those lines what's popped was "WTF? That's not what Catelyn Stark looks like..."

I think they've captured that smug little fuckwad Joffrey perfectly with that choice of actor. I want to smash his face in every time I see him. :olo: I'm really curious to see who they cast as Gregor Clegane. :paranoid:

edit: Apparently it's this dude: http://www.conanstevens.com/ 7' tall, 320lbs....not big enough from the way his character's described in the books.

Yeah, Gregor looks far too intelligent in the TV show too.
My other big disconnect is what Jaime & Cersei look like. They're meant to be identical twins :E
Arya's pretty damn perfectly cast mind you, although I worry about the actress growing up faster than the character. In fact, aside from Catelyn, I'd say all of the Starks are pretty damn well cast.

Hodor ain't my Hodor though :(

He's a brilliant, brilliant actor. Very few kids his age can pull off that "I want to fucking rip your face off" level of cuntery like he does so effortlessly. All the kids on this show are great actors actually.

Indeed, for once, none of the frontline kids in the show are a downer. Arya's first scene with Syrio is one of my all-time favorite ever scenes from a TV show ever.

Looks absolutely interesting, I've had the first season on my queue for ages, but still haven't gotten around to watching it. Speaking of which, I should really get on that before season two starts.
