I've had that effect happen to me and it's fucking hard to say anything but you CAN if you choose to you just don't hear yourself so you can't tell how you sound. Unless you're really shy about how you sound, which might fit the bill for asians there's no way that thing will silence some loud fucking redneck that wants nothing more than to tell you how god hates fags.

I'm often chatting shit with phones on and can't hear myself, so doubt it would phase me too much. Fuck i've done One Week completely off my tits with the room spinning.
I don't quite get how the device can supposedly instantly make you unable to regulate your own voice, as if you've been deaf your whole life. Surely you get too used to instinctively knowing how to speak to suddenly be tricked into thinking you're not doing it right. Though I suppose the caveat is knowing if someone's STFUing you from behind the grassy knoll.

Yeah, when it happened to me it was on the phone and there was an echo of myself repeating everything I said with about a .2 second delay. It stopped me right away but as I need to speak with the person over the phone I got over it, but it did cause me to stop momentarily.
