Oh I'd say the guy that threw a shitfit over video game spoilers. Harry Potter's a bit geeky, to be sure, but if you have kids and they've seen the movies, well you'd have to be pretty fucking thick to not pick up on the incredibly obvious plot twists. That and there's about a bajillion pop culture references to same, so I guess the nerd hat's sitting squarely on your dome.

You seem pretty defensive. Pretty sure noone here is going to judge your love of Harry Potter. You enjoy fantasy wizards and young kids waving wands. No big deal.

The only scanning I've done so far is for a side quest on Citadel real quick. Not looking forward to 100%ing the scanning stuff...

I couldn't read past the first paragraph because I haven't beaten the game yet. With that in mind:

1. If that's not true, then fuck Bioware for making a shitty ending to a hugely successful and highly anticipated trilogy finale.
2. If that is true, then fuck EA for making us pay extra to get the real ending. That's like watching a movie that stops 10 minutes before the ending and having to pay another few bucks to finish...
c. Despite my resentment if it's true, I'll still buy it because of all the time I invested in the series. I want closure, damnit! And I'm sure that's what EA's counting on.

I just started and I'm bout to knock it out in about 30-45 min. Not that bad, just wish the Reapers would fuck off...

kind of a cheating solution if you're interested:
just scan like crazy, even when they are on to you... you still have some time before they catch up to you...just exit the system and get right back in, for some more quick scans in the areas that you missed. If you find something and exit the system before you "collect" it, is no big deal since the location mark remains on the map. By the time they catch up to you again, you'll have time to do all your scanning and collecting you need. You probably already know that once you "land" time freezes until you leave the planet again, so it doesn't matter how slow the scanning process is.

ps
if you find a location but couldn't get to it in time, or if the location is too close to a reaper entree point, just exit the system and move your ship away from the circle and approach it from a direction that your marker is actually at in relation to that system...that will give you the closest entree point.

I only do those quests if I happen to notice the item people are looking for. Then I'll take it back to them, but I never go out of my way to find what they want. The side missions I WILL do are all the ones that show up on my galaxy map as flashing light points. Those are meaty. Since I've done every one so far, I don't even know which ones (if any) are skippable.

They said the same thing about ME1 and we got a whopping 2 DLC packs, one of which was wank.

You seem to be making a pretty weak argument. Pretty sure you don't really know what someone being defensive means.

I freely admit that I enjoyed watching the Harry Potter movies with my daughter. What's your excuse for your handbag-swinging Mass Effect hissy fit, nerd?

Probably because we are on a video game forum, in a thread about Mass Effect, which is a 100+hr trilogy thats mostly story driven.

Whats your excuse for coming in here crying? Clearly you would rather discuss Dumbledores love of a young boys. Maybe you should start a new thread. Also, pretty sure Webster lists writing a paragraph on why you like Harry Potter and then using your kid as a scapegoat as the exact definition of defensive.

So you admit that you're throwing a hissy fit and clearly demonstrate that not only did I hit a nerve, but that you have a pretty weak grasp of your mother tongue (and logic in general).

Stop being so angry, nerd.

DLC's are wank by nature. why do you people put up with it?

it's $60 for the game, which gives you about 40 hours worth of entertainment
the DLC is $10 and provides about 1 hour of extra story line with a completely phoned-in gameplay sequence.

I'm not a mathematician but something is not right with these maths.

If anything since the mechanics of the game have been already put in place, a DLC should provide a lot more gameplay per dollar value, compared to the actual game. Especially since DLC's are more often than not a poor excuse to milk you for more, there should be a bigger incentive for people to bite. But yes, you morons would still buy it... you'd buy a $10 DLC that simply removes Samantha's top, so I guess you deserve it.

Since your reading comprehension is zero, I'm going to guess you just stuck with the movies. Maybe you could enjoy this thread while your kid reads it. If written words confused me I might be angry at everything too.

I like the overall mood of the game...very depressing and brooding. The streamlined scanning of star systems is both easy and fun...I wish they had this from ME1 on through. The environments in the Citadel were exactly what I was hoping for in terms of location and views. Getting missions by simply eavesdropping is gay and since there are no real cutscenes for accepting and completing a mission, there were several missions that I completed that I don't actually remember completing. I realize the extra work involved for setting up all the conversation dealios of dialgue and cutscenes, but a short mission-ending cutscene with a simple camera cut while the dialogue plays would have made me feel more involved in what was happening and how it affected the battle readiness thingy.

Great game and the new guns are fun.

Your squadmates are retards and there are more bugs overall than ME2...which had more bugs than ME1. Those are about the only real gripes.

in what way? I thought the squadmates were great. I almost never felt the need to direct them to any particular position (other than using their powers). They don't do as much damage as you do, but if they did, the game would have to throw a lot more enemies your way... or at least make them a lot tougher. And even in situations where I want to be at a particular spot they are in, they quickly fuck off to some other location.

My only problem with squadmates so far is that EVI throws her decoys around at random. Otherwise, they kind of disappear into the background and the only way I knw they're there is when an enemy suddenly floats up into the air. :smirk:

You're just proving my point, and your standard "repeat back whatever he says" approach may keep LawL entertained, but it's actually pretty boring. When did you turn into a complete moron?

The ending shocked me, but once I let it sink in I thought it was an appropriate end to an amazing. The game constantly reminded you that the only way to stop the Reaper cycle was by making the ultimate sacrifice, so I was happy to see the ending (that I chose) stayed true to that. My military strength was over 5000 before I returned to Earth so I saw the little bonus scene at the end.

Also, how does "post-ending DLC" translate to Bioware changing the ending of the game? Until they actually come out and say it, I won't believe it. If anything they'll just release new missions to play since continuing a completed game takes you back prior to assaulting the Cerberus base.

How did you manage to get it that high? I was only at 3600 (effective was 1800) and my "Readiness Rating" stuck to 50% since I never touched multiplayer. I thought I did all the major side missions, but I must have missed quite a bit.

I thought the ending was alright. It could have been more epic and satisfying, but I'll take what I got and not complain. I sort of expected Shepherd's personal outcome, and I'll be curious to play again and choose the other final choice at the end to see what happens.

Semi-Spoilery: Mazda, was the bonus scene the thing with the wintery trees after the credits, or something else?

I think I made too many Paragon choices. Or maybe I just totally missed stuff. My second playthrough is going to be the one where I hunt for 100%.

Now I'm eager to see the bonus ending...
