It look me a little over a minute to realize that his bike doesn't even have a seat. That shit requires a lot of upper body strength, by the looks of it.

Noone's hatin'. I'm simply advisin' you don't know what parkour is and despite the display of balance and skill, the bike is, quite obviously, a very specialised piece of kit.

Definitely sounds like you're hatin'

It's a guy using everyday street furniture to perform feats of acrobatic prowess. That's pretty much the definition of parkour. He's just doing it with a bike.

A very expensive bike. Which is entirely my point. I've said nothing bad about the guy, or the skillz, just that it's not parkour by definition (yours is still wrong btw), yet for some reason it's causing some kind of spackers unite rally.

It's a special frame too if you look close. Seats are just weight and in the way. Very refined to do just what he's doing. Beastly brakes too.

^ nice. it's not just the skill, it's lack of fear that counts. you just have to accept that you're gonna land on your arse and break bones now and then, like that guy does the near the start of the video. i don't think he's even wearing pads, just a helmet

who even cares if it's "parkour"? not only does the word itself sound retarded but the word itself wasn't even defined in the dictionary until just last year

Oh, I see, it's the bike's price that gives him the ability to do all of that. I mistakingly thought that all of that required skill. I guess it's similar to the way parkour people can only do all of that crazy jumping and shit because of their special trainers.

Do you reckon if he had the bike diamond encrusted that he might achieve flight? I wonder if-thermodynamic laws withstanding-could he increase the bike's value until it was able to leap not across railings, but across the very dimensions of space itself...?

I bet as the walls of reality tumbled around us, you'd be in your PCWorld computer chair with your arms crossed, mumbling that it's still not parkour.

Anyway, parkour is what the French call Free Running. That's not running, that's biking.

Although upper body strength doesn't hurt, most of those guys are wearing clip-less pedals. It enables you to get much higher jumps because you pull the bike up with your pedals as you launch using your legs so really strong leg and back muscles are probably more important than upper body strength here. I used to do stuff like this but not this extreme when younger. I've dropped from 7ft high onto a paved parking lot which is about the same height as the start of this video although I didn't have a full on jump bike like his my mountainbike had a full suspension which helped cushion high jumps which I did often in races.
