anyone following this year? It's setting up to be a very competitive year, with all kinds of interesting developments with the front runners and the middle of the pack now flexing some competitive muscle.

K, number 1 reason this season is starting to rock:Vettel is not dominating....in fact, he's not doing so great.
And then you have drivers like Perez almost winning the previous race only to finnish 2nd because of a small mistake going off the track...

If you know anything about the standings of 2011, then this week's starting grid in china should give you an idea of just how different this year will be:

Nico Rosberg
Michael Schumacher
Kamui Kobayashi
Kimi Räikkönen
Jenson Button
Lewis Hamilton
Mark Webber
Sergio Perez
Fernando Alonso
Romain Grosjean

as you can see, Vettel is not even in the top ten for tomorrows race, it's a 1-2 first row lockdown by mercedes and Schumi is 2nd! we also have that grazy entertaining Japanese driver Kobayashi in 3rd! with his teamate who finished 2nd last race at 7th.

Yes things are getting nicely mixed up and tomorrows race will be some exciting stuff!

Oh, and Räikkönen is back in the big leagues!

No not really, I don't.

Any 'sport' where 70% of the so called 'action' happens outside of the event day can fuck right off.

Oh please. The weekly bullshit of football is nothing compared to F1.

Plus something happens when football is played.

Yeah I thought so, I hardly watched it last year, though. Neat new bit of technology :)

It seems to help with the overtaking, no?

Eddie is hilarious. I don't think he ever forms a complete sentence, and often he just rambles. Funny as hell. His and DC's split gridwalk was cringeworthy too, they're missing Brundle there for sure. DC just interviewed all of his buddies and Eddie just droned on and on about Frank Williams. Entertaining tho.

I miss regular BBC coverage... Sky just feels soulless in comparison. Yeah Brundle is good on the grid, but the DC / Eddie team is 30% of formula 1 for me.

Yep. So far with the fly-away races i've been watching sky streaming for the race then getting the beeb coverage after.

Im liking the season so far, not so much the moving to sky :/, the commentator with coultard just wont shut the fuck up on the beeb, then you get that irish tosser popping up in the pitlane that always sounds like hes just been caught sleeping.... then you have sky, with that stupid screen and 2 bellends (1 fit) pointing out the obvious, still the one to watch tho cos of brundle, could also be a lot worse as i was pretty sure they was going to have *back to the studio*, still early days yet

with the racing, ferrari still looks like a dog and as much as i hate alonso hes a fucking good driver. Red bulls had half their car banned so they were always going to struggle, mclarens looking strong - nice and consistant and id probaly tip lewis for this season.... i think brawn will drop off the pace a bit as everyone starts developing their cars though which will be rather interesting :), not expecting vettel to improve too much either, think webber will teach him a thing or 2 after that weekend ;)

Tarring the hundreds of thousands of people that go to matches every week with the hooligan brush is such a moronic thing it really shows how isolated to real life you are. And the rich/poor comparison? Possibly the worst one to use when talking about F1 as a spectator sport :olo: Go to many races?

You draw this conclusion from just a single race?

China was a slow, long build up to a great end of the race, and yeah Rosberg and Merc did pretty much everything right that race.

I'll be happy when Kimi ends up on the podium. Kimi won't be.
