Samsung 3D/120Hz monitor

Post by DRuM »

I just pulled the trigger on this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... =MO-168-SA

They're doing VAT back till 7th May, meaning it costs me only £154. So I get 3D, 120Hz, and glasses included. \o/
Should arrive tuesday. Quite a bargain I'd say.

I have this one. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... 20&subcat=

Ive used the 3d only a few times to try it, Crysis, L4D and some PS3. The best 3d game experience was Super Stardust on ps3. Everything else I didn't think 3d was worth the tradeoff in resolution and detail level.

The real selling point for these monitors and the main reason I bought it was for 120hz. Its so smooth and awesome for fps games.

That's a beautiful monitor, great size too. Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing what the 120hz looks like, but I never really get very high framerates so might never see the best of what the monitor is capable of, but certainly should be smoother. How are 3D movies on yours? Is it anything like as good as the 3D at a cinema?

You will notice the smoothness just with windows and cursor movement. I haven't watched any 3D movies on mine, just a few trailers I downloaded on PS3. Nothing mind blowing, just different. I think the 3d in the theater is better...but that might just be because of the massive difference in screen size.

Word on the street is 3D panels deliver better 2D than a standard 2D panel.

u jelly?

It was the best 27" 120hz on the market and given that I usually look at the screen and not the bezel , it really wasn't an issue.

It's a nice monitor. Ignore phantfagsmagoria as he has no taste, whether it be in hardware, music or simply having fun.

Somewhere in all that loss of body weight, he unfortunately shed a personality.

for something THAT expensive they sure as hell provide close to no specs what so ever.

am I supposed to be impressed simply by the "OLED" bit?
is the viewing angle and color fidelity good on all angles or just left to right?

its not a rich peoples monitor tho , its a broadcast monitor

that means most of the bias's that cant be balanced out (like the consumer models have) have not been introduced into this monitor, ie-i can prolbly be calibrated , mostly.
it is about time!
