Anyone ever been fucked over on eBay?
Anyone ever been fucked over on eBay?
Bid on an item (the big Silent Scope rifle for the Xbox - I was bored...), get it, doesn't work on my HDTV or regular TV. Seller won't respond to messages or email (which is odd, they are a power seller with their own eBay store.) I'm not out a significant amount of money if there is no resolution, but the mere principle of the issue is pissing me off.
The bigger joke is eBay trying to talk you into using their "free" SquareTrade mediation service to handle problems. They try to get you to do this before leaving negative feedback. I tried it...registered for the service, typed in all the info, described the problem and the resolution I wanted, etc., and after you get to the last step you are told that unless you pay a 29.99 fee, you get no real 'mediation' - all that happens is that the seller gets a copy of your complaint forwarded from Squaretrade (their response to this is optional.) If you pay, you get a 'professional mediator' - but you only are charged if there is a successful mediation - smart - pay 30 bucks to mediate a dispute on a 40 dollar charge.
I guess I don't feel so guilty now about selling my steel battalion controller to someone in Canada for almost $200 USD through eBay...hehe.
Anyhow, any effective strategies you have for getting problems like this solved in eBay?

Request the persons info, eBay will give you an address and phone number within a few minutes (the other person also gets yours). Then give them a ring. I've done it once or twice and got good results.

yep, it should at least work on your CRT-based set, assuming your HDTV is not CRT based. f*cking people.tnf wrote:Bid on an item (the big Silent Scope rifle for the Xbox - I was bored...), get it, doesn't work on my HDTV or regular TV.

I will let you in on a bit of the process:
They start off as babies, and I perform some genetic interventions on them in my laboratory:

Then I train them, using state of the art gymnastic facilities:

I also ensure they are equipped to skillfully employ technology to achieve their means:

Meditation is part of their education:

Finally, I complete the genetic intervention process using a gaseous vector method:

Here is what they look like halfway through their final transition:

And finally, they are ready to hunt and kill:
