well i thought this thread will help me to solve my problem.

Do you get any error messages in the console after startup? Press the tilde (~) to view the console and pageup/pagedown for scrolling up/down. Type /condump condump.txt to store it to a file. nope, i just can start the game and play without sound. but i saw, when i opened my console menu, this mess...

when i start quake 3 i don't have any sounds ingame. after the installation i got some wired and stupig laggy sounds, independent of any quake3 sounds.

do someone know what's wrong?
