I've got no sudden desire to see the two mods merge, infact I would prefer it if they remained seperate; choice is a good thing :) However I do think they (and any other mods for that matter) should share code. Seems pointless to me to have features that are the same in both/all mods coded by differ...

Just create the pbsv.cfg yourself, it's just a text file. Put that in your pb folder for your server and much like an autoexec for quake3/4 it will automatically be run at server start.

Autodownload does function without the addon.conf (sorry if I've misunderstood you?). For files without iaddon.conf, you will need all of the files on the server, which you can autodownload. The first time you connect to a server you don't have the files for, if they are available for download and d...

I'm happy to start uploading files now, but none of them have addon.conf. I'm assuming since it doesn't affect the ability to autodownload (just which files you need to play on the server using those files) I should go ahead and start uploading. Someone chime in if I shouldn't.

Jagou, thanks for that, was wondering what I'd done wrong :) Figured while I'm posting, I'd post on how I do autodownloads for the 2 servers I co-admin. Since both servers are running from the same machine, I've created a third config purely for autodownloads ... called autodownload.cfg. I then call...

Don't expect them to alter the game in any substaintial way at all; thats what the modding community is for :)

I DO expect them to fix the bugs and provide a proper base for the modding community to take over.

According to iD, it's coming :icon30:

No, server downloads are broken/only half implemented and regardless if you set a rotation, unless your clients have the same files as on the server, they can't connect. The way I've dealt with this is to - 1) Upload any custom files to a web server, using dir names the same as the q4 dir names to p...

1) I honestly cannot answer right now. If I did, I'd say yes, but the 'ooooh, shiny!' effect is still there 2) In it's current state, I'd have to give it a 7/10 3) SP was a lot of fun, and while I understand that's where the money is, I've only played the SP to pass the time. I fully expected and wa...

Your X800GTO may very well be a X850Pro. The GTO isn't a "real" model by itself, rather re-labeled X850Pro or XT. They have only disabled a pipeline quad and downclocked it. That's why the drivers thinks it's a X850Pro. Yeah, and pretty sure it makes no odds either way; just the name it w...

you obviously have zero clue as to what timedemo's are actually used for. To benchmark the game and get an idea of average frame rates by use of a pre-recorded demo run? Which, if some of the visual elements are being dropped is going to have no significance on actual gameplay or to a lot of the tw...

It's worse than I thought. Just made another demo (to make sure I didn't have it wrong) on Bloodworks. Ran around the map after picking up all the weapons. Fired off all the weapons, looked at various things on the maps, etc, about 45 seconds. Played it back and ... Some flickering overhead lights h...

Hate to ruin things (especially since it's my first post), but those timedemo results are useless, at least as far as actual game play performance is concerned. Go make a demo (netdemo or demo) and make sure you fire off a rocket/nade or two and stand somewhere you can see a shadow/your shadow. Time...
