Re: Someone here is a genius but I forget who...

divVerent from the Nexuiz dev-team made a patch for q3map2 that will do that. you can get the patched q3map2 here: http://emptyset.endoftheinternet.org/~r ... 080108.zip or use NetRadiant which comes with the newest q3map2: http://alientrap.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3687 q3map2: fix -convert -format...

I still have all the entries, but i don't have the space to upload them. If you don't care and can live with rapidshare/mediafire whatever, i can upload them.

Re: Screenshots

@shadow The layout looks like fun. You could give Nexuiz a try with that map, because the eX textures are part of the game + you can have a look at your map with gloss and bumpmapping enabled. (Nexuiz supports q3bsp, so for testing no changes to your map are necessary, but you'll need to compile you...

Wow.

Really impressing.
Intense atmosphere just from the screenshot.
I love those roots. They give that certain feeling that something weird is going to happen.

Re: q3map_sunEXT shadow problem

Try using a value like 4 (higher res) or 8 (lower res) for the -samplesize switch during the bsp-stage of your compile. sth. like: "G:\GtkRadiant1.5.0\q3map2.exe" -meta -samplesize 4 -v "G:\Quake III Arena\baseq3\maps\mymap.map" Another option would be to add the _lightmapscale k...

Re: Solar Public Beta

I had a quick run through the map and i love the atmosphere. It has a nice fresh feeling :) And the skybox is superb. How did you do it (besides the fake portal sky things). I mean only the 6sided skybox. What programs did you use ? Or is it some kind of mystic secret technique that nobody is allowe...

[q3MAP] Revenga! (final)

I had a lot to do the last weeks and the progress on this map was very slow but now it's in a state where i'd say it's final. Botplay is much better now. Klesk on nightmare skill was up for some nice 1on1s. r_speeds are still very high, but it runs fine on my 2 year old rig. Enough blabla: Get it > ...

Re: [MAP] Revenga ! beta5

I'm doing the bot clipping right now. I hope this'll help with the lagging. About the seams in the sky. Is this that ATI bug ? And what exactly is Icculus.exe ? I'm thinking of replacing the teleporter with some kind of portal-teleporter (like the on on dm7). Good idea, or do you like these red bobb...

[MAP] Revenga ! beta5

Here's a new beta of my map "Revenga!" This will be the last beta before the official release. changes: - fixed skybox - fixed teleporter - better clipping - lights more yellow - added soundFX - textured caulked surfaces Tell me what you think about it. Any feedback is appreciated :) Get i...

Looks promising. Some snow falling down would be great, but i doubt that q3 can do that in an appealing way.

music in maps

Would it be allowed to use music from sites like http://www.elixic.de/index.php?id=industrial for your map ?
Or music from the demoscene ? http://www.scene.org
It's free music after all and the url could go into the credits.
Or do i need the permission of the artists first ?

Re: [MAP]Revenga! beta4

Thanks for your feedback! The sky will get fixed. It's kinda messy in my quake3 folders, so something always goes wrong when making my pk3s... Even when using Mapacker  * Either clip off areas on top of the blinking lights or texture the caulked bits, I can see the void. You also over-aggr...

[MAP]Revenga! beta4

This map lurked on my HDD for over 1,5 years now, and now it's time to get it out of it's nest. It's called Revenga! (SoaD \m/) and is aimed at 1on1. The layout is fairly simple, so it's not really suited for pro-gamers but more for the average gamer that wants to hop in for some nice tourney frags....

Great work Method! I also love that kind of KP feeling in your screenshots. Can't wait to get my virtual presence running around in it. I'm also interested how you'll be able to support the already thick atmosphere with sound. Very nice. Keep going. I for myself worked on the 2048³ mapping contest f...
