thank you very much for your help! i was successfuly able to change the quake 3 arena resolution to 1280x960 using that method. looks and works great. the mouse feels a little funny but there are plenty of ways to adjust that!

I noticed that in the Setup->System->Video mode available options, quake 3 arena supports 1152x864 (4:3 ratio), and then the next option is 1280x1024 (5:4 ratio). ok so /mmedemo capture is the correct command?

also i have another movie that is for some reason at 60 fps, when i use virtual dub to change the source to 30 fps, it slows the movie to half the speed. any idea how i can take the 60 fps movie and make it into 30 fps without slowing it down so much?

i placed the following files in my quake 3 directory to try and make q3mme_1.4 work:

quake3mme.exe
Start Q3 Movie Maker Mod.bat

and a folder called mme, inside is

demos folder
scripts folder
cgamex86.dll
mmedemos.cfg
readme.txt

when i type /capture in console, it says unknown command : (

just made a video with cl_avidemo

i get a bunch of .tga files in my screenshots folder, load all of those into virtual dub and i get a great quality movie, thanks for the suggestion.

however, i cannot get cl_avidemo to record sound. how can i get sound to record using this command?
