Re: EntityPlus - A single player Q3 mod
Thanks. Still a bit sad no one bothered to do anything with it though. I was going to do krep2, and I had everything planned out too. For example, here's my notes for the music, from March 2013 [spoiler]Underground Tunnel Entrance: 05 - Cory Lerios & John D'Andrea - Shadowlaw Theme.mp3 - func_t...

Re: Older versions of Radiant: Anyone have them?
Sorry for the bump. I see no evidence that you found versions prior to GtkRadiant 1.1.1. In my archives, I have more versions of radiant. I was unable to find online links for these, so, I had no choice but to upload them to my server, for now: http://bport.ca/temp/q3/editors/q3radia ... ant202.zip ...

Re: Is there a modern guide for q3 mapping?
If you had install radiant, you might have in your q3 folder, a docs folder wich one contains guides how to do mapping. I think it's fair enough to learn the basics. (If you cannot found it here's a link: http://icculus.org/gtkradiant/documentation/q3radiant_manual/ ) True. I think it's expected th...

Is there a modern guide for q3 mapping?
Doesn't need to be something huge that covers everything, and every possible solution of doing things or what tools are being used. Perhaps someone's personal guide/checklist, of their routine of setting up their environment (tools, configs), selecting a custom texture pack (and how to manage that f...

Re: Ironwood [BETA]
i will still look for more ways to work red/blue into the map though. Cool. Did you look into maybe just putting in some colored omni lights everywhere on both sides? So that the castle walls have a red tint (faint) to them, or blue if on blue side. Or does that go against your artistic standpoint....

Re: Ironwood [BETA]
From the screenshots, it looks like there's just not enough color for the blue/red sides. The red flags and windows just isn't enough, for some people. For me, simplicity is key, and I'd rather know what side I'm on or what side to travel to without directly looking for these things, but rather to s...

Re: Level Designer for OpenKatana
Pardon the bump but is there no interest in this position? Correct. There is an attitude on the internet where people will ignore rather reply. So, if you see that your thread is being ignored, that means people are not interested. You might want to try recruiting in other areas (websites/forums, c...

Re: Creative theft and why there is zero tolerance for it.
Fair enough. I understand it's wrong, and yes I would be frustrated if someone did it with my work. I guess I may not mind if 1) they don't make money from it, and 2) they credited me in their product. But, on the other hand, I would mind it if my work was used in a poorly manner. I can see how that...

Creative theft and why there is zero tolerance for it.
if you're extracting them from WoW and somehow importing them into Q3, you're violating copyright restrictions and it is illegal. Why are you always on people's case about this? It's fucking quake 3... Don't be such a stickler. Give it a rest, already... I wonder how many posts (of your 10,000 post...

Coolbeans, dude. The feature WILL be used.
Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to start mapping again yet. No free time, lately.

Perhaps you've already thought of this, but I would suggest scanning the source code for "+speed" console command and see what it's doing and if you can use that or copy from it.Eraser wrote: but I'm having some difficulty finding how it works.

Re: Bot characteristics
In combination with Obisidian's request, I'd also like a spawnflag for "START_WALK"
So, a bot that ignores player until attacked, but also starts in walk mode until attacked.

Re: Continuing Testing Procedures?
Well, just to clarify, I was only acknowledging the fact that EP has no co-op as a downside to how grand of a mod EP is and that it should be posted on more gaming news sites. But, I acknowledge that; I understand that certain features would have to be removed, and a lot of re-work would have to be ...

Re: Continuing Testing Procedures?
This is an interesting coincidence. I just recently emailed Eraser this morning a couple things regarding EP, and I briefly mentioned my plans to start a new map and how I started last night, collecting assets that I plan to have, etc. With your post here, and my recent email, I still fear though th...

ya, i told you so, but you didn't want to listen. you wanted to blame it on my map. although i agree, my map has an extra "nobots" setting in it--which is the cause of the issue--it should not be the cause. it would just get ignored. why would an extra "nobots" setting fuck up my...

So, Obsidian selectively copied posts from a thread, starts a new thread called "whah whah", posts his last word, then locks it? lulz. Real mature, Obsidian. How old are you? Yeah, what's up with this Eraser guy, programming a mod on his own spare time and letting other people play with it...

Re: Prog or Plugin for converting pic formats (bmp to tim)
Don't blame his mod as the cause of your glitchy map. I'm not. I need not prove the mod is glitchy; just read the comments by other people (on q3world and lvlworld) who have had random issues with either of the maps. My map works just fine if you run the mod right, and works strange if you load it ...
