Re: Only excessive, insta, etc servers :( Why not DM?
If you prefer, think of it as silly vs not. Both are fun, obviously (or no one would play them), but in different ways and for different reasons. Generally, "pro" mods refine the vanilla game, but don't change it to such an extent that it might arguably be called a semi-conversion. I tend ...

OSP/CPMA are pro-mods, not "fun" [sic] mods.
As for UrT, it's a total conversion so I didn't even consider it here.

Re: Only excessive, insta, etc servers :( Why not DM?
It's the cancer of old games. It takes them all out eventually. At the very end, almost nothing remains of the original games; all that's left are the tumors... uh, "mods"... that have engulfed them. If you think Q3 is bad, you should see Wolf:ET (*shudder*). I paid it a visit after severa...

Re: Q3A Demo master server issue...
Try this: http://www.qxmon.net/q3mon-browser.pl Protocol: 43 Sort by: mod Show: empty+full Scroll to bottom. Those with no mod type are potential demo servers (it can probably be modded, but I'll assume not). From among those, the ones running q3dm1/q3dm7/q3dm17/q3tourney2 are potential demo servers...

Re: ASE Shutdown FAQ (Use MaxBrowse, link inside)
Just a heads-up, if you're sorely missing ASE, as I am (it's the only external game-browser I've ever used that didn't knock me offline when fetching/refreshing lists -- including MAXBrowse, I'm sad to report), but you've still got it installed: don't uninstall it! Ever! Backup the program folder no...

Bot latency?
Hi there... I ought to know this, but I never messed with the Q3 bots much: is there a way to simulate latency for individual bots? E.g., could I pit Xaero 5 with fake ping of 25 against Xaero 5 with fake ping of 50? I'm guessing not, since that would be too interesting to have remained under my rad...
