When vertex editing patches, you can select multiple patch control points by shift-LMB-dragging, shift-LMB or ctrl-LMB. None of these options are available to brushes. that's what I mean. Again, my thanks. It's not about the vertex function itself If I seletiere individual points, then that goes with the mouse and CTRL key easily. But you know what I'm sure.
