It's OpenBSD, so I'm sure it'll run any window manager over x.org. The screen just shows it running Blackbox or Fluxbox.

You could also try defining the literal to a string before the compare. They may perform string compares differently from Linux to Windows.
$dummy = "loadnav"
if $in('action') eq $dummy {}

Debian and Unbuntu are probably all compiled optimised for a x386 chip. This would explain why everything was so slow. Then adding Gnome or KDE in there, which are known for being bloated and slow, didn't help either. Yes it's easy and runs on everything, but not as quickly as it could. If you want ...

No, all distros come with at least one precompiled kernel that gets installed. You may need to compile a new one if the precompiled one doesn't support all your hardware or you want a customised kernel.

If you have everything working under the live cd then there's probably no need to compile.

Heh. Posting from the Ubuntu live disc. So far, from what I can see, it's a lot nicer than XP, though I can't seem to find a way to raise my resolution from 640x480. Try, hitting ctrl-alt-plus or minus (on the number pad.) If that doesn't do anything then you only have 640x480 set up. I could be th...

No, it's about the same. Click a skill and wait for it to execute. Other than that, they are nothing alike.

Check your etc/services file and see what's defined to 25. I think it's smtp though. As long as you aren't running a smtp server then it's not a problem.

From the combat log... That's why damage per second is more important than the damage alone. I believe that weapon speed determines attacks per round or something.

All I can find at Blizzard is this: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/faq/combat.html which is really vague.

Actually it is turn based but it has a much better feel than like a NWN. It feels like a hack-n-slash.

Leveling is not bad at all. The thing I found hard at first was managing aggro. At low levels you can not take on more than 1 mob at a time. But that gets easier as you level.
