Honestly, I don't think there will ever be an editor/open community for QC. Because of money. Everything up until now points towards such cirumstances.

@ Ferrao10, we can't exclude the chance that someone on reddit just lied. ;)

Quake 2 isn't Quake 3 though :(

The game is heavily developed by Saber Interactive in partnership with id Software using in-house Saber3D engine and tools. From what I understand, they makes large use of modelling applications.

I'd rip it and tell you how it works, but you can't play custom games without paying for something :(

It is possible from 3ds Max, I don't know what those Blender links I gave even mean though.

I haven't erally looked at it, but I just assume it's a vertex shader, movable geometry that repeats with effects added to that, more or less how it's always is today.

Yea probably misunderstood this! I don't think that's possible though, not perfect.

I was going to ask you why you were looking for Quake Live players when there's Quake Champions.

I tried to start a game and discovered there's an update to download. I saw mention of a new map

I would advise against this. It's just not a good idea in this engine, even if you are really good at modeling.
Use models as additions not as whole levels for Q3/QL.

Does anyone know of a way to do this? I'm considering turning my VR mod into a full-fledged co-op single player campaign for Quake 3, BUT I don't really want to learn Radiant.

I'm extremely well versed in Blender and would rather use that instead. Anyone know how?
