Interesting. These super spreader events are the real problem. I can now envision all these Italians sitting down for family meals, screaming at each other from across the table as meatballs crumbs and Covid particles fly through the air...

You should only use:

TGA 24bit

TGA 32bit (with 8bit alpha channel included)

JPG (non-progressive)

If Q3 can't find a *.tga it will automatically look for a *.jpg - so you always write *.tga in shader or model paths.

And you need to recompile your map. Q3Map2 needs to read the shaders listed in shaderlist.txt

First attempt in copying shaders from someone else is to use their exact shader with no changes, to make sure everything is set up. Only then do you change the name and etc.

So use his exact shader with the exact name and make sure it's in shaderlist.txt

Make sure you add your shaders to shaderlist.txt. If Hipshot's shaders aren't working, then you have something wrong with your setup, not with the shader.

Only in post/using a Q3 mod, such as Q3MME. Can't really be practically built into a map.

I think it is. You can make particles for map models / to be baked in the map as well as weapon hits can be particles (for example dust)

Lights: Thanks bst for the idea, but torches don't fit. It seems that I've erased them anyway by deleting some of those moving particles I have in my map.
Patches: Hm I'm going to try that. But I think it will also affect the lights being emitted onto those brushes, then?
