damn 280,000 is more than I expected. But yeah spectating this game is laughable, even when I'm straight-face trying to pay attention to what's going on. Maybe clever production and better broadcasting can overcome the limitations and still provide an entertaining show.

The camera is for spectating only? Do I get to pick where it starts? Can I have multiple camera "spawn points" like the player start entity?

Not sure how the spectating code works exactly, but you can check if a client is a bot like this:
