download the osp mod for quake 3, it's highly configurable

there's lots of documentation on how to tweak your config to make everything bright, enemies included

Yeah, I saw that a while back when rep posted it. Doesn't take into consideration modern systems, the about:config tweaks, etc. I'm telling you, they both are basically identical speedwise on mine.

Might have been checking for updates. I have an extention (proxy switcher) that has an old update site in its config. I had to disable the auto-check for updates or else it took several minutes for FF startup. Maybe something similar happened.

if you're playing osp, add cg_autoaction 21 to your config (check the osp client readme in your quake3\osp\docs folder for more info). This will record a demo, with proper naming convention, automatically, for each match that you play.

IIRC, during the uninstall process, it should ask you whether or not you want to delete the directory. Answer "no" and you won't have to tweak everything again. Also, back up all your Firefox files prior to uninstalling, just in case. No problems with losing my config here.

there was something similar to that in this post.

try putting your net_port and net_ip in your server config or q3config.cfg

Yeah you can make an osp server thats instagib, however, people with higher ping wont have as much fun if it was unlagged. I can give you an FFA config for osp, with only the railgun enabled.

save a copy in both folders. Or just copy your baseq3 config to your excessive folder/all mod folders.

go to C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\baseq3

or wherever your q3 folder is

find q3config.cfg and open it with a text document

thats your config

just save that file and put it back in that q3 folder whenever you re install

maybe ?

Case are you manually writing stuff to your config, if so just close it and it will prompt you to save.

seta will write it to your config for future use. Other wise youd have to type it every time your loaded it.

I've only ever typed 'bind x name amazingperson' and it's saved. I don't have to type it again.
