It gets even better when you try to work out vis and the geometry beyond the skybox starts flickering depending on the player position.

In real life, you'd be able to see a structure that stands up higher than the room you're in. Skyboxes are designed to simulate that.

looks really nice, fKd :up: but, man, that sky shader is looking outdated as ever. it would be interesting to see how the gothic theme would look under a modern skybox and crisp lighting.

It's a low quality generated tg2 skybox and then just two mountain images in a _skybox scene. Very basic.

Have you tried just removing the upper units of the brush that's giving you these issues, if possible?

Yea, that's a shader. To make it look more naturally, you apply this to textures that would emit lighting. Like a light fixture, or a skybox etc.
You can control radius kinda by increasing and decreasing the value of the point light. Hit "n" to see the entity panel.
