ok ignoring my earlier post everything has gone well untill i double clicked on the quake 3 shortcut and this came up:

And that's the Quake 3 model of the Gladiator so it's not even Q4.

Anyway, there were a bunch of Quake IV screenshots in PC Gamer or some magazine like that a while ago. It's most definitely still in development

go to C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\baseq3

or wherever your q3 folder is

find q3config.cfg and open it with a text document

thats your config

just save that file and put it back in that q3 folder whenever you re install

maybe ?

obsidian, of course I'll keep checking back here. This is my home, it's where I got my start. Not to mention Quake 3 is still the best multiplayer experience I've ever had. And no matter what I do with music, I'm still a level designer at heart.

... that stuff ; seta cg_enemyColors "iiii" seta cg_enemyModel "keel/pm" seta cg_forceEnemyModel "1" and save it as autoexec.cfg and place it in your Quake III Arena\baseq3 folder. That way when you will start youre game, everything will load at the same time.

They haven't announced tournaments yet, but at this rate, I'd guess that Quake III will make a comeback as the flagship tournament game. Not that DOOM 3 will be left out. But I do think we're going to see Quake III live into 2006.

On one botched install I did, I got the white screen, but that was my poor job of allocating memory under os9. Have you got the latest vid drivers for your iMac?

Check that you installed the patch to the same directory as quake 3.

For example, you may have installed quake 3 in c:\quake3 but the patch is installing to c:\program files\quake iii arena\.

If this is the case, the installer will work without an error, but quake won't be patched!
