I'm in a rush right now, so I'll only give you a clue : use Blender to render (or actually bake) your cubemap on a UV unwrapped cube. If you don't understand anything, wait a little bit, I'll come back soon.

Since today is the deadline for the competition, the map is now final. The only thing i wasn't able to get to was a new skybox, but other than that, i'm pretty happy with the final result. Thanks again for all the suggestions guys, much appreciated.

I really don't think those 196 units matter. Also, you're saying the skybox brushes were 256 units away from the center? I really doubt that, as 256 units sounds like the width of a generic corridor. Do you have your units and "little grid squares in GtkRadiant" mixed up?

I wanted to create like a fake skybox. Something i can put on the outer side of a window and make the image look far like it has some actual depth.
But without using surfaceparm sky for it.
