I've always known them as minibikes.

edit: well, I'm not real sure which one you mean so:

or:

The one on the bottom is what I've always called a minibike, the top one. No idea what they are called.

Pocket bikes, not street legal in Canada, you can drive one at a parking lot though.

Top one is a minimoto and the bottom is a monkey bike. Generaly, monkey bikes look ALOT like that and they can normaly fold up to.

Mini moto's dont fold, but with only 50cc can go about 60 - 70 mph because theyre so light...

That's it, so they're not then? I saw some middle aged guy drive one past me in a residential street.

If the police or security would see him driving on a resedential street then he'd probably get a ticket.

They're cool, but you're taking a risk driving those things out where massive SUVs roam.

Since we're on the topic, I saw a powered bicycle (bike outfitted with small motor). Are those things street legal?

Reminded me of Cuba.

Some people here in Copenhagen have them (the minimotos).

They ride them on the city's bike path system which is basically on every city street. You can get anywhere with it but I don't know if they're legal.

With regards to the motorized pedal bikes...yeah...they're common here.

...the only way they will be made legal is if the local govt. is able to make money off of them by licensing and inspecting them (for a fee of course) and the insurance companys can make money by insuring them...
