I concur, was not expecting that music given the artwork.

Any Euros here ever heard of a Hungarian band called Thy Catafalque? I just discovered them about a month ago... been listening to their two albums called Geometria and Naiv. They have such an eclectic mix of sounds, it's worth giving the whole albums a chance, they can surprise you. Wikipedia calls them avant-garde metal, I guess that is fairly accurate.

Our musical lord and savior, Devin Townsend, is quarantined, but fills his time by doing live Twitch feeds of him writing, recording and mixing music as well as giving live performances like this.

I'm sure all you metalheads know him. For everyone else, welcome to enlightenment.

Devin is good stuff  He lives pretty near to me, I think less than an hour away. So far I've yet to see him out and about... :paranoid:

One of my favourites of his is Deadhead at the RAH.

Caught this on the radio today.

(John) Kincade - Dreams Are Ten A Penny (1973)

Interesting read on the wiki.

Deadhead is epic.
The Death of Music performance from the Royal Albert Hall brings me to tears.

*raises hand*

I even have a Thy Catafalque shirt somewhere, though he's sort of evolved away from the style that I liked originally - I loved the Róka hasa rádió album - it's like the unwanted ugly love child of Sigur Ros and Burzum.

RYDHM DEE only does one psytrance mix a year, but by god they're worth waiting for.

Cool I'll give it a whirl, I am still exploring this band. So far only heard the two newest albums. I get the feeling there is a lot of variety in the back catalogue.

ANZAC Day here yesterday. No regular remembrance services because of CV. For the usual Dawn Service people lit candles and stood on footpaths/balconies.

For me this video always stirs :tear: :tear:

This is a video worth your time.... Eric Bogle - The Band Played Waltzing Matilda

Eraser you heard the new Satch album yet? I've given it a few spins, it is a little faster paced than his last one or two ventures. It seems more like Super Colossal kinda. I feel as though he is slowing down a bit.... I think he must be pushing 70 though? He's fucking bald it is hard to tell :olo:

I've given it a listen.
The problem with his past few albums is they all sound a bit the same to me. The weird thing is that whenever I listen to those albums, I feel like they're pretty good albums. There's not really any bad song on there. But at the same time, there's also no song that really stands out to me, which I remember and for which I turn the volume up another two notches.

Satch hasn't made another "surfing with the alien", "satch boogie", "summer song" or "cool #9" in a long time.
