On another note (pun intended) I found SPOTIFY yesterday. Any thoughts on this software before I (might) get hooked?

Can't imagine a life without Spotify anymore to be honest. The movie industry could learn a thing or two from Spotify.
Having said that, I have no idea how Spotify compares to similar services like Google Play Music, Apple iTunes or Amazon's offering, but I'm not aware of anything lacking from Spotify.
And if you subscribe to Spotify, do pay for a full pro account, because the ad-based free account model is just not sustainable.

It's pretty good... I recently bought a game called Dangerous Driving, it's the spiritual successor to Burnout Revenge and spotify has the entire burnout revenge soundtrack on it, I load that up on spotify and play Dangerous Driving and it's just perfect.

Where Do You Go To My Lovely sung by Peter Sarstedt (1969)

This was on the closing credits of the movie Absolutely Fabulous The Movie (2016) I just viewed.

Yes I know, before you were born possibly but listen to the lovely tune/melody  .

TOOL are putting their music on Spotify etc tomorrow AND the new album, Fear Inoculum, is being released on the 30th (it's their first album in 13 years).

TOOL was the last important (to me) band that wasn't on Spotify, so I'm very happy with this.

Can't wait to hear the new album. Also can't wait to see all the haters who call themselves "fan" and have been doing nothing but giving TOOL shit for not releasing an album declare this a shit album because it's [insert reason here] (probably that it's not like Undertow/Aenima/Lateralus enough).

I'm not expecting great things from the new album, simply because it's been so long and I don't want to overhype it for myself.

But secretly I'm anticipating it to be the best thing that's ever happened and am hyping the shit out of it....

Mesarthim released a new album last month, it's good but it's not quite their 2018 cosmic black masterpiece.

With TOOL releasing a new album, I just need a new Boards of Canada album for me to lose my shit. So while I wait, I am after substitutes. This is my latest find:

I bet there are more people listening to Tool right now than any other time in the history of the band.

I wonder if the band member(s) that was holding out on streaming is going to be kicking himself when he sees that first royalty check. Shoulda done this a decade ago...

I think Maynard was in favour, but others wanted the album to be listened to as a whole, as a piece of art. Which I do get, but that isn't how it works any more. You can't control people into listening to things how you want. I can put together my favourite TOOL songs and it is not an album back to back; it's a collection of songs.

In fact, in no particular order, here is my top 10:

Hooker With a Penis
Opiate
Schism
Forty Six & 2
Lateralus
Jambi
Stinkfist
Aenima
Jerk Off
Intolerance

Bonus because it wasn't written by them, but is fucking outstanding: You Lied

While I get the "albums need to be listened to as a whole" as an artistic argument (personally, I always listen to whole albums, never random tracks by various artists), I don't see why anyone would think it's relevamt from a business point of view. It also doesn't exactly line up with the fact they've released over a dozen singles.
It also kind of belittles your fans. I'm sure your fans will choose to enjoy the album in the best way possible . And if that isn't an entire album track-by-track then, well, so be it. Besides, it's not like you can't use a CD player's random function or rip CD's and add them to your mp3 collection.
