Just going to post this one again with the talk about Satch - mainly because this is the only album recently that has really got my "happy place" guitar fingers itchy, in the way that hearing those songs that Eraser just listed did, back when I was a kid getting them off Napster...

The problem with his past few albums is they all sound a bit the same to me. The weird thing is that whenever I listen to those albums, I feel like they're pretty good albums. There's not really any bad song on there. But at the same time, there's also no song that really stands out to me, which I remember and for which I turn the volume up another two notches.

Satch hasn't made another "surfing with the alien", "satch boogie", "summer song" or "cool #9" in a long time.

Generally I agree with this. I thought the Black Swans album had a number of great tracks, I also like the stripped back feel of that whole album. But yeah overall there are very few tracks that really grab you and are truly memorable. Shit I still listen to Surfing With the Alien on the regular, what, 34 years later? I think his Anthology dual-CD set from '03 has a really nice smattering of all the good stuff.

Reminds me of some of the bands Mark Lamarr would invite in for sessions on God's Jukebox.

Yeah not the greatest video but their music is honestly pretty good if you like that kind of sound. I don't think they're very popular/big in terms of fame so I'm guessing most of their videos are on a tight budget.

I've been trying to find a song from a Japanese metal band and can't remember shit about it... so frustrating. It has a late 90's early 2000's sound a bit like Korn/typo negative and the video looks like it was shot back then but I'm drawing blanks in terms of the name of the video or even the name of the band. :(

edit: Lol fuck me I just checked the previous page and I'd posted it here lol...

A bit (a lot) of epic guitar for the axe lovers ... if you enjoy it I highly recommend checking out anything Magnus Karlsson has released/collaborated over the years. To start with, Freefall for the more melodic/power metal side, Primal Fear for a bit of NWOBHM Maiden/Priest influence and that's barely scratching the surface. The dude is prolific to say the least!

Kind of weird intro, but whatevs

This one falls into the category of "How have I not heard of these guys in the 10 years since this song was released".
I feel as if this song at least should have been some kind of one-hit wonder in the UK, but there's alot more solid material on Spotify if you're interested.

It's like.. if the Darkness and Geddy Lee had a hyperactive lovechild who watched a lot of Queen concerts.
