I have made this thread as I think that film soundtracks are over looked.

I am currently loving the Tron Legacy sound track; it is pure awesome! It is very closely followed by the Pulp Fiction sound track though....

Strong mentions go to:

Sin City
Inception
American Pie
American Beauty
Gladiator
Lawrence of Arabia (I know...)
The Graduate
Snatch
Hero

Probably lots I have missed but these are ones I can think of that are instantly at the forefront of my thoughts.

Also, Requiem for a Dream is epic.

Score or soundtrack?

Star Wars saga
Lord of the Rings trilogy
Tron Legacy
Inception
Batman Begins
Dark Knight
Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy
Bourne trilogy
Clash of the Titans
The Last Samurai

Pretty much anything by Hans Zimmer is an instant classic, but Daft Punk's Tron score is melting my ears into an orgasmic goo right now.

You goddamned queer.

I have an experiment for you...it'll take about 2 minutes:

- listen to the PoTC soundtrack with your eyes closed (like you normally do when masturbating to Johnny Depp posters)
- listen to the soundtrack from "The Rock" with your eyes closed
- get your mom (who's probably in the kitchen above your basement bedroom) to play a random bit of music from either movie (with your eyes closed) and accurately name the film
- I dare ya
- I double dare ya mutherfucker.

Easy, I would win by default.

Here's a real challenge for you: try not to eat something for 5 seconds.

Actually, now that I've read the thread, I agree with Plained. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly was fucking awesome.

I usually need to have my eyes open when I'm rubbing one out to a poster of Johnny Depp. Just sayin'.

Tron Legacy is the best soundtrack I've heard in years. Some other favourites are the Matrix, Queen of the Damned, Waynes World, the Crow, and Supernatural Season 1.

But Therac-25 you're on a winner there. 2001: A Space Odyssey and Blade Runner get my vote tonight.

PS: Stumbled upon a little something off topic :smirk: but might be interesting?

I love me a bit of Raiders of the Lost Ark and the original Superman movies.

I think Once Upon A Time In The West is close to being my favourite though. Such fantastic musical characterisation.

Oh, and if you British and you don't like The Great Escape, YOU'RE NOT BRITISH.

Magnolia has a kick-ass Aimee Mann soundtrack. That intro sequence ending in "One" is sublime.

Oh yeah.
Jaws.

Ooo, I love the Amelie score too.

Mazda has it right. are we talking about scores or soundtracks?

i personally prefer scores. Most of the stuff by Alan Silvestri or Danny Elfman is gold.
Then there's ofcourse the classics like Indiana Jones and Star Wars. Those scores are timeless, and not because of nostalgic reasons but because of the musical theory behind it.

Danny Elfman did some crackers. Say what you fill about the film but the score for Terminator Salvation was spot on. Then you have classics like anything John Williams or Harry Gregson-Williams, or Hans Zimmer.

The Tron soundtracks had a good seeing too recently I don't mind tellin' ya.
