ah great, time to find out how much cheaper the games I bought in the last sale have gotten - meanwhile I haven't had any time to actually play them!

Ya know, I'm not a PC gamer (not anymore), but that is an unbelievable price. Especially for a game like Skyrim. That game can give you 100+ hours of entertainment. It almost makes me want to become a PC gamer and start playing 1 year old games. Almost...

Instead, xer0s chooses to play $60 dollar console games with half their content ripped out which is sold at a premium price again.

Don't take this as a dig at xer0s but at (console) gaming in general.

If you haven't played Dark Souls yet please slap yourself for being stupid and then go play it. That game was made for men.

I will warn you though, DS isn't for everyone but it's way more rewarding as a game than Skyrim ever was.

Reading this thread cured me from ever wanting to play the games mentioned.
Thanks!
Except maybe Frozen Synapse and Terraria.

Not trying to convince you but I regard Dark Souls as one of the best built games of the last generation of games. (xbox 360, yeah that's old now)

It did what other games won't do because they're too scared of how it'd affect their sales. There's so much lore and depth to that game that it's a shame people pass it over not knowing what they're missing.

The seamless multiplayer is another thing this game does so well. It's so good that I feel bad for gamers that don't play it... Yeah it's hard, but that feeling you get once you overcome a challenge is incredible and once you learn the art of combat in that game, and you will, you feel like a total badass. Until you run into the next enemy you've never seen before. Then it sends you back into a spiral of feeling helpless and childlike. I think it's that back and forth and the intensity of those changes that make it so good.

It's just that I now have a lazy, relaxed approach to playing video games. Demanding instant gratification with little effort.
And from what I understand DS is quite the opposite.
I understand how every victory is thus all the more sweet, but I just can't get into that whole sadomasochistic mindset.

I regard that like saying I don't like eating caviar because I can't be bothered to move the spoon to my mouth.

Yeah ok, as metaphores go, that's alright I guess.
Except what I'm saying is, keep your precious caviar. I'd rather dine on readily available sweet succulent lobster.
I choose to miss out.

And caviar tastes like shit, anyway btw. Don't understand the fascination.
