Max Payne 3 MP is fun fun fun. Even if some of Rockstar's art direction is fucking abysmal. Sure it looks pretty in motion, but those characters are some seriously ugly arsefaces. The amateurish screen effects and completely pointless smudge-o-vision killcam also grind my gears somewhat. Also it's infested with that perk-ridden trash system, forcing new players to contend with not only the more experienced, but also overpowered and cheap bullshit that pretty much equals to playing against a stack of hackers. When will this utterly filthy utterly insideous shit die?!

Still, shootdodging off rooftops and landing in a crumpled heap is fun.

Never tried the multi player in MP3, but the SP was shit. Had little to do with Max Payne at all IMO.

On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness is currently the Humble Bundle weekly sale. I was interested in getting these a few years ago, but never got around to it. Are they any good?

do it... 4 games, two comic ebooks and two soundtracks (the $6 to get episodes 3 and 4 is already above average to claim the soundtracks)

Fuck. I just picked them all up during the Flash sale yesterday for $7.80 and no comics. First game is pretty cool so far. Great implementation of turn based combat.

I think I will go and pick up the Penny Arcade games, thanks.

Furthermore, highly recommended: Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons. Currently on sale for $4.49, but keep in mind it does require a controller to play. The game itself is a very touching experience.

How does the story transition over from 2033? I also picked up Last Light but I'm playing through 2033 because I never finished it.

Man the steam deals have been crap since Christmas day...

The daily personal specials from http://www.gog.com/ have been pretty solid though.

You know mac has been running on *nix for a bunch of years now right?
Worst case one could make a Wine wrapper but I'd rather have a native solution.

Turns out all PA games have a mac build but only 3 is available on Steam. The others are mac store appa. Apparently HumbleBundle doesnt support that :/

Unless OSX can run any *nix binary as is, without wrapper trickery or modification, that doesn't really mean much. Can it?

Although this does kinda suck:

If PA have made builds for all their games, I should think Steam would want to have them.

FFVII is as good as turn based.

It is. It is also one of only a handful of turn based games I am willing to play as it doesn't infuriate me.

Why couldn't those 2 be included in his "handful of turn based games"?

It does if that means I can run virtually any game. Sites like portdatabase.com have already done the work for me, and if not installing into a wrapper takes about 10 seconds extra. Given there's no driver or registry maintenance on mac I'd say making a game run properly is about as 'finicky' as running it on a Win install.

Then why wish for a native solution if this is good enough? Is it a performance issue?

Not into Civ and I have never tried XCom. Tried the Red Alert games and I wasn't enthused either....same goes for Might & Magic and Total War games.

Worms on the other hand... :toothy:

I'm not saying that either. See that little squigly thing with the dot at the end of my sentence? Yeah, that thing. It's called a question mark. Google it.

Try XCom. The new one I mean. You cannot not like it. That's not an option.
