President Trump
Re: President Trump
Trump reversed it. Discuss. I'm sure most of you will say it's to save face, and you'd be right. But, it's been reversed, ultimately better right? Nope still an angle. You guys will never be happy amirite?
Re: President Trump
He doesn't get any credit for reversing that fucked up policy change.
Re: President Trump
It’s so funny to see how this discussion in this thread is so black/white. No one seems to try and find a middle ground.
As for YGP personally, all youve been doing is vaguely saying that yes, you oppose the seperation of children and parents, but you always follow it up with but {some statement about illegal immigration being illegal}. The problem is that a “but” negates whatever came before. It’s constantly like you’re trying to justify this policy, even if you don’t intend to.

Gramps' line about Canada "not having room for immigrants?" chilled me; one of my favourite contemporary British sci-fi authors recently wrote a book called "America City", where that attitude is explored extensively.
I highly recommend it.

Re: President Trump
It's such a stupid angle I'm not even going to bother. It's like he doesn't realize we already get mexican immigrants and that our population is a fraction of the US.

You're couldn't be more wrong StuFFNBuTTs. People like you get on your moral high horse and scream like a child about how bad something is, but you've got NO alternative. Your view of the situation is so narrow and bias that it obscures your ability to reason. I'm certain you still don't have a viable suggestion, let alone a solution for America's immigration problem. Only complaints. And that's my entire point. Never once did I say I was for separating children from there parents. However, I can understand there are problems on both sides of this issue. Those problems have never been dealt with and need a clear resolution. But instead of being objective, you close your mind and rail on. That's the problem with wingers like you in our government. You only want to complain about the other side and do nothing to promote change. Immigration reform isn't a black and white issue. It's something that is a big problem for America, both ethically and financially. We can't let everyone in and we can't send everyone home. "We are a nation of immigrants, but we are also a nation of laws". So the next time you want to throw a tantrum, come with a recommendation or just STFU. We've heard it already.HM-PuFFNSTuFF wrote:Gwamps working overtime in this thread to justify taking kids away from their parents and locking them in cages.
What an utter scumbag. Doesn't get that much worse than him. It's actually hard to find words that adequately describe how horrible a person he is.

Sarcasm... Something so easily lost in text. My comments about Canada are said in jest. I don't expect Canada to do anything to alleviate the problem we have with immigration in America. Why would they? But again, being critical of a situation that you have little knowledge of without offering anything constructive seems a bit ignorant. Sorry.Mat Linnett wrote:Gramps' line about Canada "not having room for immigrants?" chilled me; one of my favourite contemporary British sci-fi authors recently wrote a book called "America City", where that attitude is explored extensively.

Of course not. On to the next complaint. Right?Transient wrote:He doesn't get any credit for reversing that fucked up policy change.

Re: President Trump
Can you please try to be a little more ambiguous next time. I'm certain the more you obscure the thoughts you are trying to convey the better it'll be for everyone. You know, as close as we can get to you not saying anything at all.

Re: President Trump
What's really sad is that there isn't really an immigration crisis in the US. Migrants coming to a country is a perfectly normal thing and it happens all the time everywhere. Well... Maybe not North Korea lol. You get what I'm saying, there's no real crisis at hand with mexican immigrants. That doesn't mean you stop patrolling but at the end of the day, there's people to take care of it and process the people coming in. This is entirely a non issue aside from taking kids from their families and I'm happy you've come around and see that it's not cool.

Re: President Trump
You're absolutely wrong. There aren't enough people to process all of the immigrants seeking asylum or entering the country illegally. Furthermore, there aren't enough places to house immigrating families while they are being processed. Two very big problems. Problems that weren't being dealt with by the past administration. Immigrants were just be released into the country...
I'm not just coming around either. I already understand and empathize with the problem. But I'm still completely against illegal immigration. Something several morons around here can't seem differentiate.

Re: President Trump
He manufactured a problem and it blew up in his face. If you think I should be happy with him because he changed it back, you're a fucking moron. There is no immigration crisis, we can easily process immigrants coming into America and there's no threat of terrorists. Abolishing ICE and giving all those people jobs processing immigrants will kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Our economy would only improve if we gave blanket citizenship to everyone who came over.YourGrandpa wrote:Of course not. On to the next complaint. Re: President Trump
Gramps conflates child separation policy with illegal immigration and argues like a dickhead for 2 pages and then wonders why people think he’s for putting kids in cages. jfc i want those brain cells back.

Re: President Trump
He enforced laws already in place in hopes of pressuring democrats to the table over immigration reform. That doesn't mean I agree with the tactic either. And if you don't think we have immigration issues in America, you're the moron. These problems have been verbalized by every president since Bill Clinton. Trump didn't have to sign an executive order. He could have left it to Congress to resolve. But he saw the tragedy, heard the outcry and took action. Like any president should do.Transient wrote: He manufactured a problem and it blew up in his face. If you think I should be happy with him because he changed it back, you're a fucking moron. Typical winger. It's always someone else's fault.

Re: President Trump
Time to move on to the next terribly horrific incident caused solely by this administration.
You sound just like those other shit stains that threw Obama under the bus every 5 minutes.
Get a grip, hypocrite.

Re: President Trump
I'm sorry, did Obama or Bush set up concentration camps for small children and I didn't notice it?

Jesus Christ, these people are unbelievable

tl;Dr: Melania Trump went to Texas to visit the children that got separated from their parents and while she did so, she wore a jacket with the text "I don't really care, do u?" on the back.
Tasteless cunt.

Re: President Trump
She's claiming ignorance. I don't know what's worse, that she's that oblivious or that she deliberately did it.

Re: President Trump
Every word spoken, every handgesture, and every attire is being checked and advised upon by the white house staff. Yet nobody told her, 'hey this might not be the most suitable jacket for this occasion'?.
Please.
And here I thought she was actually one of the more sensible ones.

Re: President Trump
This was intentional.
Trump himself tweeted that it was a statement against "fake media", but even if that was the intention, what a terrible moment to make that statement in that way.

Gotta respect that epic troll, though.
