I usually read something on my phone instead.

Don't you find that you're just killing time with mobile games?

I usually just put on the flight statistics/route map on the screen if there's a monitor in the back of the seat in front of me and take periodic naps.

I have lots of books in PDF/Epub in case I don't have internet. On a flight I usually get smashed and pass out LOL.

rymdkapsel
A very simple RTS/resource management type of game. Looks simple but it is pretty hard.

Sum
A puzzle game where you have to make sums as quickly as possible

Duet
A game that requires quick reflexes. It's very simple in concept but gets hard as tits. Never unfair though and its always doable so it's really satisfying if you beat another level. The graphics look really simple but that actually complements the gameplay. Anything more would only be a distraction.

Blek
A really ingenious puzzle game where you draw a line in a pattern that then keeps repeating itself. Your line has to move through all the colored dots on the field without touching black ones. I love it.

The Room
The best puzzle games ever made (there's three of them actually). It's about a box or table in a room that's basically one big puzzle with interactive switches and integrated puzzles. It's really clever stuff and it looks great. Best played on a tablet though. Might get a bit fiddly on phones.

Oh yeah, I forgot about The Room. I've got it on my iPad mini but haven't played it for a long time. I think I got frustrated with it...

Hmm never really think to play games on my phone. Usually just end up browsing randomly until far too late at night instead :/.

I'm mostly reading on a Kobo while I'm travelling, but I do play Spelunky on my Vita quite a lot.
I think it's my favourite platform for the game; it performs perfectly and looks identical to all the other platforms, all of the controls are easily to hand and the gameplay is perfectly suited to suspend/resume style play, which public transport in London requires. It also doesn't require sound to play effectively, so I don't have to lug around headphones.

The Vita's a cracking device, made even more so with a PS+ account, as I think I've only ever bought 3 games, yet I have over 30 on it.
