I've been trying to teach myself a bit of the ol' piano, and have come up with a little choon. It's pretty limited right now as I only know a handful of chords, but here it is. It's kind of slow, but I'm going to record it with some drums at some point, probably at a faster pace. Anyway, I recorded it this afternoon on a school piano, using my minidisc, whilst waiting for a student. Spot the mistakes, heh. :p

Damn man, that was cool. I reminded me SO much of Final Fantasy 7, too. I can't place the setting, but I know it reminds me of some place in the game. Damnit, now you're going to have me thinking about it all day. :icon33:

Not bad.

But the mix (along with the drums) should have a cat being anally fisted.

it's more final fantasy eight esque, when you're running about in the academy training thing at the beginning.

No, definitely not Balamb Garden, but it does sound more like 8 than 7. You know that town in 7 whenCloud, Barret, and Tifa first get to the area near Aeris' house? With the dude in the pipe who says cryptic things (sorry, I'm only remembering bits and pieces of the game)? That's what it reminds me of.

Thanks, I take that as a compliment. I've never heard the music from those games, I'll have to check em out. :)

Development on my tune. A friend who writes and produces very slick house tunes and who already has a single out doing the dance clubs, likes my song. Listen to the very last thing on my piano piece:

http://jamesseph.phpwebhosting.com/DRuM ... 0piece.mp3, at exactly 2:04, the last 2 chords. I took that , sped it up, and looped it. Which produced this :

http://jamesseph.phpwebhosting.com/DRuM ... f/loop.mp3

My friend took that, plus some of the rest of the tune with a bit of his own as well, added drums, bass and vocals, just tonight in fact, and produced this:

http://jamesseph.phpwebhosting.com/DRuM ... %20mix.mp3

It's basically become a deep house mix which is pretty much what I had in mind all along. This was done in like one hour, and ithe final mix will be a LOT better. I've got to redo my bit through midi for better sound. I'm pretty excited though. I mean if this gets to play in the clubs, it'll be the first time I've been a part of a record that I co-wrote. I know this is not too many peoples taste here but what do you think anyway? :)

http://jamesseph.phpwebhosting.com/DRuM ... %20mix.mp3

Btw, this is his own song currently out, gives you an idea of his final production quality:
