Quote:
Toyota sanctioned the concept to demonstrate its race-developed hybrid technology and confirm its intention for this to filter down its new sports cars going forward. Speaking about the concept and future performance models set to emerge from the new Gazoo Racing sub-brand, such as the forthcoming Supra, President of Toyota Gazoo Racing, Shigeki Tomoyama said, ‘rather than developing production cars into sports cars, we aim to work out how to incorporate the know-how gained from racing and rallying into production cars. This is how sporting competition contributes to Toyota Gazoo Racing’s efforts to make ever-better cars.

Sure, but my point is that "Toyota" doesn't have quite the same ring to it as "Lamborghini", " Pagani" or "Koenigsegg" :)

OK, not a 'super car' for sure.

The Toyota Supra is still pretty highly regarded Eraser. That said, I think the new supra looks like complete shit. I can't believe how much they've ruined a car so highly regarded... Who the fuck wants a 4 cylinder Supra... I mean... I know who does, and my point is that you shouldn't sell that to those people. It's like making a fucking 4 cylinder cheap as fuck Lambo. You're ruining the pedigree.

I actually bought my last car because I know under the hood, it's all toyota and it'll be durable and last me the winter.

True... But then the jump from a tuner car legend to making a super car isn't that much of a stretch. Honda has the NSX, Nissan has the GTR... it makes sense for Toyota to make an offering in that market.

But those cars aren't in competition with the super car concept at the top of this thread ?, which is comparable to high end Lambos, Ferraris and Mclarens.

I thought the new Supra was using a V6 too ?, they got the option of a straight 6 n all. The 4 clylinder will be low end and mainly to power the electric motors ?.

I think the 4banger is just for kids to buy. It's a cheap Supra basically. A Nissan GTR will shred most high end lambos and ferraris dude... that car is a straight monster and frankly it should be since it's priced in a fairly similar manner. I'm pretty sure the GTR and NSX aren't classed as sports cars.

Supercar is a loose definition but I wouldn't put the NSX or GTR anywhere near it, there's a shitload of other cars you'd need to include n all ranging from Porsche to Audi and beyond. They may be able to kill a Lambo but that doesn't make it one of the 'exotics', they've actually got reputations of being supercar slayers.
